A mando-guitar is what it sounds like—and it sounds like it's really fun to play. Featuring a hybrid mando-guitar design, fine Gold Tone craftsmanship, and a piezo pickup for amplified fun, this unique instrument will afford you new, fun ways to play.

Hybrid Mando-Guitar Design
If you're still staring at the F-12, we understand. It's worth taking a good hard look at. This is a truly interesting instrument you just don't see every day. The body is based on a mandolin, but sports a larger chamber for additional low-end. The two F-holes show its hollow body design, which makes for an awesome sonic compliment to the 12-string tone. With a 15" scale length, you'll find the F-12 Mando-Guitar has a one-of-a-kind, incredibly pleasant sound that you can do a lot with. Whether you're a guitar player or a mandolin player, you'll feel at home with this instrument.

Fine Gold Tone Craftsmanship
Despite an innovative design, Gold Tone didn't miss a step in crafting this instrument. It's got a beautiful spruce top with satin finish, atop a maple body, giving it an elegant look and great tone. The neck is cut from maple as well and sports a 21-fret select wood fingerboard. The 12-strings are strung over an adjustable ebony bridge, secured by a cool trapeze tailpiece. Open Gear Gotoh-Style tuners and chrome plated hardware complete this awesomely crafted mando-guitar.

Piezo Pickup for Amplified Fun
Not only does this beauty sound great acoustic, but you can plug in and amplify it to share the tone with the world. A piezo pickup in the ebony bridge captures all the dynamic sounds from the 12-strings. Take the F-12 Mando-Guitar to the studio, on the stage or just to your friend's house that has a nice PA system.

I would not buy it again.

Pros: Nice sound but and pickup works well. Cons: very cramped fretboard making it hard to play chords beyond the 3rd fret. Nice idea, but not well executed. Poor quality control. Mine arrived with a chip in the nut and the zipper on the case was broken. Finish is more flat that "satin". Action was OK but bridge was set a low as it could go, implying poor neck angle. I may have to sand down the bridge to lower the action. I didn't send it back because with all the problems going on with the virus, I thought it would get lost in shipping.

Great instrument...really enjoy playing it

If you enjoy the sound of a mandolin and want to continue to use normal guitar chord structures this is the instrument for you. Plus, it stays in tune really well.
