The Catalinbread Sabbra Cadabra delivers a custom-tuned Rangemaster-based booster combined with the pre-amp section of a Laney Supergroup - carefully voiced together to get the riffs of doom that Tony Iommi is known for. Four controls allow you to fine-tune the response to your guitar and rig - Range, Gain, Presence, and Volume.

If you're familiar with Black Sabbath's live album, Past Lives, then you’ll know where Catalinbread was going with this pedal - huge, raw, responsive! This circuit is optimized for down-tuning but works equally great for standard tuning thanks to the Range control, which allows you to "customize" the treble-booster section of the circuit anywhere from treble-boost to full-range boost.

According to Mr. Iommi, someone modded his Dallas Rangemaster. "I don't know what he did to it, but it was really good. I used that treble booster on all the early Sabbath albums and put it into the Laney because it boosted the input and gave it the overdrive I was looking for, which amps in the early days didn't have." Then in 1979 another tech threw it into the garbage. Can you believe that?! So no one really knows what was done to it. Catalinbread's experience leads them to believe the secret was most likely changing it to be more of a full-range boost and possibly rebiasing it. So that's what Catalinbread means when they say you can "customize" the treble-boost section with the Range knob - you can continuously set it to any input frequency response you want.

I would buy this product again.

If you're looking for that classic Black Sabbath sound or just some downright dirty tones, look no further. I am absolutely pleased with this product and use it for a variety of tones. This product is a must for any pedal board.

Catalinbread LLC will repair or replace this unit if it fails to operate due to defects in materials and/or workmanship for a period of 3 years to the date purchased by the original owner. This warranty does not cover misuse or neglect by the user. Nor does it cover cosmetic damage to the finish and external hardware. To qualify the unit must have been purchased by an authorized Catalinbread dealer in the country of the original owner.

To qualify, simply fill out the warranty form and return to manufacturer within 10 days of purchase including a copy of the purchase receipt.
