This pedal is basically "buy an Angry Charlie- get a Blues Driver FREE!" Two really good pedals with a good amount of options in how to combine them and what order each drive feeds into the other or run them parallel or just one or the other. Dig it.

Excellent pedal. The construction is Boss, so it's a tank. The sound out of this pedal is outstanding. I see no faults in the Blues Driver. It really is a Blues Driver in here with no short comings. The Angry Charlie in here sounds great. First time playing the Charlie and the tones out of it are sharp, even with the gain pushed all the way. But what puts this pedal over the top is the many modes you can play around with. From individual modes and stacked, there are so many ways to use this pedal. I find myself jumping through every mode and find tones I like. One shortcoming, is I wish there was a way to save presets. You get a volume, tone, and gain setting for both the BD and AC, but with each stack mode they interact differently. So, it would've been awesome to have saved preset for each mode. Yet, I can't fault the pedal for it. There's so much going into this pedal already and you can find a tone you can use. It's a great piece to have. It's not everyday you see Boss collaborate, but the dual efforts with JHS they hit it out of the park.

Probably the best OD pedal for the money. Some pedals are loud with lots of distortion and some are clear allowing articulation in the notes. The loud ones often distort so much they become ineffective, overwhelming notes, chords, and melody. Many of the clearer ones can't really boost very much and become too thin when pushed. The Angry Driver can be pushed as far as you need it to go and still maintain a great deal of articulation. The fusion of the Boss Blues Driver and the JHS Angry Charlie, and the flexibility to blend them together in any combination to any degree, makes this hands down the best OD pedal for the money. Fuzzface, Klon, and Tubescreamer are old standbys and have their distinctive sounds, but their sounds are ubiquitous and all too often end up in the "too loud" or "too thin" areas of the tonal palette. And many pedals try to emulate them with varying degrees of success. Why should you adjust your playing and your tone to fit the pedal? Get a pedal than can change to fit what you need it to do. If you want an OD pedal that will give you a wider tone palette then most any other out there at a price that makes sense, look no further than the Angry Driver.

I purchase this in an effort to downsize my pedalboard which contained an old BD-2 for light to medium grit and an Angry Charlie V1 for a harder rocking sound. Not only did I succeed at this but I discovered so many new sounds using the parallel mode as well as feeding the Charlie into the Driver (previously I had used the Driver into the Charlie). I don't think I have ever been so pleased with a purchase. I'm a blues/rock player whose sound spans from almost clean '60s style blues (three Kings, BB, Albert, Freddie) to '80s Metal. So I can't really say how it dos for something like djent but I would whole-heartedly recommend it for anyone playing anything from jazz and clean country through hard rock, even venturing into thrash metal territory.

This is an inspired pairing of two classic overdrives. I got it mostly to free up a spot on the pedalboard as it is capable of doing double-duty, but it has ended up being so much more versatile than expected that I went ahead and got the Boss F2-5L switch to add flexibility. The Blues Driver side is sonically identical to my BD-2W in standard mode, and the Angry Charlie is what you would expect of JHS; a very complex and detialed high gain OD with a nice mid-hump. Quality is standard Boss, meaning it will outlast you. A very good buy when you consider the two separate pedals would cost you 50% more than this.

I bought this to save space on a small pedalboard. Being familiar with the JHS Angry Driver, I thought this would sound good. I was not disappointed. Although you're missing the presence control of the original this gets the sound of the original very well. The Blues Driver side is also very useful. The routing options are very exhaustive. I use this with another footswitch that allows me to choose either side of the pedal or turn it off. Go listen to the videos. This pedal is a bargain for what you get.
