Let me first say that I am an SRV devotee. Fronted a three piece band for several years doing a good percentage of SRV covers. I have tried many Strat's looking to nail that elusive tone...Strat Plus's, Am. standards, G&L, and I could never find it, or the margin for error in setting up my amp was so small that it just wasn't repeatable in real-world conditions. The first time I tried an SRV, I knew it was the one. Not only did it flat out nail the SRV tone, the margin of error for where you set your amp to get it was eliminated. I play through a stock 30th Ann. Marshall 100w through a 1960A 4x12 Marshall cab. & a 4x10 Fender Hot Rod DeVille with TS808 Tubescreamer Re-issue, Boss Bass Chorus(does a great job of emulating the Vibro-tone) and a Cry Baby Wah, and a Morley AB or both amp switcher. Fantasic tones and will do a lot more than just Stevie...these pick-ups are big, fat, and clear, clean up very nicely with the guitar's volume knob, and very touch sensitive. If you can only own one guitar and your styles are rock, country or of course, blues this is the guitar to own!!!!
