This is the perfect ride for a small jazz/bop setup. It's dark and sharp with a distinct ping and bell. It isn't lathed on either side and has a distressed hammered finish. It's a cool look. The one I received looked like it was buried in my back yard for a couple years, dug up, hosed off and left on the porch. This ride has a unique sound that fits in very well with the lower volume gigs. Not the most versatile cymbal and fairly pricey but when it works it's worth every penny. Definitely the coolest cymbal in my bag.
