An incredible hard vibraphone mallet.

The IP1006 falls in the Jim Casella line of mallets, and is an incredible tool to create aggressive vibraphone timbre without the brittle sound or harshness of many other "hard" keyboard mallets. Having used these mallets as an instructor and player I can attest to rigor that they can stand up to. The cord is incredibly tough as long as the player is playing at reasonable velocities. The mushroom shape design of the bead of the mallet provides incredible fundamental tone from the vibraphone. This mallet is made with a rattan shaft and can also be ordered with a polished birch shaft as well. Rattan is a natural reed/cane that can vary in thickness, but it's pliability is what allows this mallet to achieve it's full tone, by whipping to deliver energy to the keyboard.
