this pad is absolutely amazing because of the pads great rebound and because of its dual-sided playing surface. The sturdy build quality of the pad ensures you that the pad will last for a very long time. The price of this pad is unbeatable at around $70 compared to the xymox reserve pads $100. The only thing that annoys the hell of out me about this pad is that this pad attracts dust like crazy. the off-world perc logo is fine but I would have liked it even better if the logo was on the side of the pad instead of it being on it but that is just me being too picky overall this pad is an amazing buy for $70, the quality of the pad is just unbeatable
I travelled to my Sam Ash Store in White Plains, NY to purchase this pad yesterday and have been practicing on it for hours. Incredible feel and articulation. Doubles and singles are effortless on this pad and you can really feel the other worldly experience versus other pads on the market. Excellent!
When I was younger I used a tan real feel while working through my drum corp obsession. I always noticed how sluggish my hands felt after getting on a real drum after a week with a pad. "I was just shedding these cheeses and now they're awful!" After some research I found that a number of players experienced this and took to calling it "pad hands". Those same forums were busy with chatter about this pad and so I bought the 1st generation. Problem solved. I've since gone to school for classical and I now freelance on kit often. This thing is invaluable. I feel like ever drummer / percussionist ought to own one. Way better than any real feel, vader, VF, or similar type of pad.
im in the battery section and i use this pad just about any down time i have and let me tell you this pad is great. it has helped me with chops and my musicality
sir pad alot
I march a high school snareline, and this pad feels almost exactly like a real drum. This pad was a great investment, and good for the rudimental snare. I wouldnt reccomend this pad to someone who is just learning because it is very expensive for a beginner, but if you play on a line or do solos, this pad all the way.
I am the Senior Drum Captain at the Thomas Jefferson High School Blue and Gold Regiment Drumline myself and my co-captain both use this pad all the time and cannot get enough of it. When we have down time in school, during lunch, after school and during rehearsals we always pull out these Pads and just go to town and in the three years since we've had them our quality of sound has increased, our technique is phenomenal and we are proud to say that we will be marching with the 2012 Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corp out of Canton, Ohio. This pad is a must have for ALL Marching Snare Drummers (Traditional, Military, Showstyle, etc.) buy it and you will not be disappointed.

It takes a while to get used to the feel, but the Invader is realistic and high quality. Just don't forget to clean it!
