Now that my large standard rock kit gathers dust in favor of two smaller Bop Style Kits I needed to invest in some lightweight smaller footprint stands. I also wanted a retro look to compliment the smaller old school appearance of the kits and easier transport. I looked at the competition and decided on these because of the size, weight and reputation. i was not disappointed. These are excellent stands as long as you understand their purpose. They are not inexpensive but they are well built with excellent fit and finish. Most of the light, flat based hardware packs are fairly pricey. Probably because of the limited market. These are not for everyone. They are very stable but I wouldn't use them for heavy hitting rock. That's why there's heavy double braced stands. I read reviews on these that complained about not handling tom mounts. The snare stand wont hold larger snare drums. I'm unsure who would expect them to hold up toms or 14X7" snare drums. Also that the bag lacks pockets and is too small to accommodate pedals and thrones. Seriously? If you need a larger bag, buy one and carry these in it. These are all about portability and ease of transport. For their intended purpose, these stands are perfect. I put the throne base in the included bag and the top in my bass drum bag and the whole kit moves in 3 pieces. Sticks, brushes and small percussion instruments fit as well. These aren't cheap single braced stands. They are quality professional light duty stands. These look and work great for smaller bop kits and scaled down standard kits. Having two straight cymbal stands retains the vintage look. The snare stand works well with my 13 and 14" snare drums. There is some movement in the stands but they never feel unstable and I don't worry about my cymbals tipping. All around, these are excellent stands. They are functional and look great.
