This thing is great so far. It took a little figuring out but it was all good once I learned that this thing acts as it's own interface if you want to play through your computer speakers.
Works very well.
There are no cons to this board just get its a one stop shop and sound quality is amazing. I just did two new mixes on it and it has a built in amp and much longer pitch faders than previous models.

If you are a beginner DJ and on a budget the Mixtrack Platinum is a great controller to go with. Biggest feature you get with this model compared to the regular Mixtrack is that you get 4 decks versus 2 and on the jog wheel you can see the tempo of each song allowing you to not have to look up at the computer screen as often and stay in the groove. Lots of options on a great budget.
This is a good unit for a beginner dj or someone who is on a budget. You can dj an entire party with tis but it is limited to some things that a pro might need. Not the greatest unit for scratching but great for looping, mixing, & quickly transitioning from song to song. The one cool thing about this unit that no other has is the BPM show on the jog wheels making it very clear and easy to mix!
I bought the Numark Mixtrack Pro 3 when it first came out last year. It was my first digital DJ controller coming from vinyl after a long hiatus. I thought it was a great entry-level controller, but was disappointed by the lack of independent gain controls. The Mixtrack Platinum takes what was already a solid controller and adds some additional bells and whistles, including the gain controls. The Mixtrack Platinum also adds support for 2 additional decks (though decks 3 & 4 share the same controls as decks 1 & 2), perhaps the biggest upgrade in this unit are the built-in displays placed in the center of each platter showing useful information such as BPM, track position and remaining time. While the Mixtrack Pro 3 was a solid controller, the Mixtrack Platinum is well worth the additional $50 for the new features and more worthy of the "Pro" moniker.
I've owned the Mixtrack Pro II and Mixtrack Pro 3 and each one has been great. The Mixtrack Platinum is basicly the Pro 3 with a few upgrades. If you like having the ability to use four channels and having the track info displayed on the platters then I would say go for the upgrade. Otherwise, you will be just fine with the Pro 3. The Mixtrack Platinum just raises the bar for itself and the competition. Great value for the money.
