This is a great value item for the price. Arrived completely set up, no complaints at all. If you're looking for an affordable acoustic bass to jam with friends, play at you're leisure or even practice, I recommend this guitar. I can't stress enough the value that I got at such a low price; plays great.
The thing is, for an acoustic bass this one is really NICE. A lot of folks have given good reviews of the acoustic side of the bass but bad reviews for the electric aspect. It's simple. Get a preamp. It makes all the difference in the world and then there is no reason not to use this bass just as you would use one that costs 10 times the amount. It was perfect right out of the box, I didn't experience any sour notes and the action was set great!

Not a bad axe for the price. Picking up a little fret buzz with the stock strings, just upgraded them and it helped. A little action adjustment should help. Solid build to jam with.[...]
[...] The first thing I had to do was adjust the truss rod because the strings were pretty much flat against the neck. Kind of a hassle but no big deal. After that, the bass sounded great. You can tell the strings are cheap, but even with them, the guitar gives off a great tone which I'm sure will be better later today when I pick up a nice new set of strings.I plugged it in and was not impressed, the sound was flat and sounded like it could use maybe a good preamp. Overall the bass is great for the price. If you wanna jam acoustically with some people and have a good sound, this is perfect. I've played some more expensive basses and the sound between them and this is hardly different (except when plugged in). After the neck adjustment, the bass was very easy to play but had a few buzzing spots (which is normal for an acoustic bass). I'm a guitar player so it was great to find an affordable acoustic bass to have around for those late night jam sessions with your friends.
I put baby in the corner
Just got this thing [...] yesterday and played it for about 2 hours. [...]. It was playable out of the box and sounds great. I played about 10 different acoustic basses and they all sound the same to me. Action is great and plays very nicely. The 8th fret on my A string buzzes, but there are ways to play the note on a different string so no biggie. Finish is ok, but it doesn't have a clear coat so it is scratchable. It is a major pain to get the guitar in the Dean gig bag because of its massive size. I read that the pickup is awful, but I haven't tried it myself and I didn't buy it to plug in. This is the best buy I have made as far as guitars go and it exceeded my expectations.
I own this guitar. I wanted something I could just pickup and play anytime without having to plug-in. I tried a number of acoustic-electrics at local music shops. I liked the Michael Kelly's a lot, but they were expensive. Other guitars at around 3-400 just didn't sound that good. So I decided to buy something very cheap, just to have around. I read the reviews on this guitar and most were very complimentary. More revealing, however, were the bad reviews. They complained that the neck was too long and the body was too big. Guess what - this is a BASS guitar - those are good things. So I gave it a try. Really, this sounds as good [...] I really couldn't believe my luck - I just didn't expect such good tone from an inexpensive guitar.
great bang for the buck. considering the cost this instrument far exceeded my expectations. the only caveat; it's scale length make it a little too long to fit in a standard hard case or gig bag.
