Pro-Arte Composite silverplated copper classical guitar strings provide longer life than traditional Pro-Arte strings. All Pro-Arte treble strings are sorted by a sophisticated computer-controlled laser machine which performs diameter/tension measurements and quality checks, insuring true sounding, precise trebles in every set. Composite sets feature an additional Composite 3rd string, which provides tonal options and nicely balances nylon and wound strings.
These strings seem alright I can't really tell the difference
They are supposed to last 3 times longer than regular. And take a few extra days to stay in tune. So far, so good. They do sound really good on my Alvarez. Really good. And play like regular. Good deal.
I bought these to re-string an old classical guitar I had rescued from a pawn shop about 15 years ago. After scouring through dozens of reviews on various strings, I chose these primarily for the composite G string that is included in the package. The strings were all of good quality (none unwinding right out of the package) went on fairly easily, and stay surprisingly in tune. I am still having to tweak the B and E each time I pick it up, but the rest of the set has pretty much finished stretching. I am pleased with the overall tone . . . the bottom is nice and deep and the top end noticeably bright. I do think the composite G string (which is a cream colored string) does help balance the sound between the low end and top end. I would definitely buy them again.
This is the 4th or 5th time I purchase this set of strings. I have tried others but always come back to this one. The sound is loud and clear. You also get two 3rd strings (one regular and one composite).
I like the guage of lower strings
