Pretty good mandolin

Excellent sound, stays in tune very well. A few sharp fret edges and the finish inside the top horn isn't very well polished or smoothed at all but it's practically impossible to see or feel.

Decent price if you have to have F style mandolin

Pros: Pretty to look at (from a distance), easy to play, and stayed in tune. Cons: Cheap looking finish, sound was very meh. My daughter wanted to learn mandolin buy her own instead of using my old beater. She had us at 3 different stores looking for one in stock that would fit the bill. She loved the looks of this one and fell in love. We got it for her and took it home but she soon realized that the sound left so much to be desired. We returned it 2 weeks later and the store was amazing with the return to get the right instrument for my daughter. She settled on a less flashy looking A style with a solid top and much better sound for just 25$ more.

Nice value

I like this. It's fun and different hence the 4 stars... the tuning pegs are tight and don't hold as well as I'd like...could just be new strings getting in place or subpar tuning pegs, not sure.

Nice store, very good sales staff.

The store was orderly, clean, well stocked. Price to quality value ratio very high. The salesman! Don't remember his name, but, he was very good at his job. Juggled multiple customers, answered all my questions, gave advice and information about the instrument. That sales person has converted me, I shop Sam Ash only now.

Very fine instrument.

Wonderful mandolin for a new player. Excellent intonation, sound quality, and appearance. Very good playability.
