The Carlo Robelli SMA-001 is an affordable, quality A-style mandolin with classic looks and great tone. Sporting a classic Sunburst gloss finish and ivory bindings, the SMA-001 features a linden top with traditional F-holes and linden back and sides to deliver those bright, chimey, clear tones that mandolins are known for. The "C"-shaped nato neck carries a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard for superb comfort and ease of playability. A set of chrome open-geared tuning machines, a rosewood bridge and a beautifully-engraved chrome tailpiece complete the package. Case not included.

Decent playing starter for under $100.

A lot of the instruments Carlo Robelli has been making are really cool for super cheap prices. Granted most of them are intro level axes. This mando plays fine and has an O.K. sound for under $100. Stays in tune decently too. -this is a staff review by skern at Sam Ash 57
