I use it in a church setting where we need a pad or strings every once in a while; used it the 1st Sunday I had it, and worked great!! Thx Sam Ash!!

This inexpensive synth pedal has more sound options and quieter performance than similar pedals in this price range. When paired with an expression pedal it is versatile and responsive. This is a great expansion for your sonic palette.

I installed a Roland Gk pickup over a decade ago on my guitar to be able to trigger synth sounds and it can't touch this pedal. The tracking is not only some of the most accurate polyphonic tracking I've experienced, it feels like it has transformed your guitar into a synth signal rather than just triggering samples. You can even do tapping runs without artifacts or the other faults you get with most guitar synth setups. On sound and tracking, this is easily 5 stars. Overall, I wish it had the ability to save presets for quick recall but that's minor for me as I don't play live. I can't recommend this pedal enough.

I use it in a live performance situation playing classic rock music. My fellow bandmates were very impressed after they heard the pedal.

Tracks great; truly polyphonic even on a 5 string bass; more sounds variations than I could imagine; More ways to use these sounds than I expected; hold feature nice for playing over chord tones.

Great pedal. Excellent tracking for guitar. Used it on a gig w/o telling bandmates and they loved it.

After using this pedal for a few weeks in a variety of settings, I would rate it a solid 3, maybe 3 1/2. On the plus side, the sounds are pretty good across the board, although like a lot of synth manufacturers, this one also wastes valuable real estate with SFX that are hokey and lame. However, the pad and string sounds are quite good. Tracking is pretty decent, but you have to be really careful where you place this on your pedalboard. Put it in the middle or towards the end of the chain, you're in trouble. I split off my main guitar signal with an ABY, then sent the SY1 to its own reverb and into a separate channel on the board for more control (I run my rig direct to the PA). It's tricky to operate this live, and I would kill for a sustain knob for the pad and string programs - they die pretty quickly with no trails, hence the reverb chaser. Good for what it is, I do recommend this pedal - but I'm hoping v2 will be easier to manage and operate.

I was not impressed with the sounds of this synth, more over I did feel the latency needs a lot to be desired. It went back in a couple of days.
