Since the RC-20 Loop Station was first released in 2001, BOSS has led the way by continually releasing new looping products. Though they’ve been used and enjoyed by various looping artists and performers, BOSS still pursued an easier and more affordable solution. The RC-1 is a straightforward looper that is easy to operate. Experience the fun of looping when you record, playback, overdub, and undo or redo loops using this compact BOSS stompbox. And of course, the RC-1 retains the BOSS quality and performance that musicians around the world have come to expect and rely on.

On the top panel, there is a new and innovative loop indicator, which consists of a 24-segment LED laid out in a circular pattern. You can quickly and easily determine the current status of the Rec/Overdub/Play modes. With a maximum 12 minutes of stereo recording time, the RC-1 is capable of capturing any extended performance that you can create or imagine! The stereo in/out jacks can be used with stereo effects and amplifiers. Additionally, they allow you to connect stereo instruments, such as synthesizers. Other convenient features include battery and AC power, as well as flexible external footswitching capabilities. The RC-1 is an especially great partner to start enjoying looping!

It's pretty easy to use even for a true beginner as myself. It feels durable and sturdy. I wanted a simple looper pedal but when I get better I'll probably upgrade to one with drum effects as well.

I am new to looping. I chose this model for the ease of use. So far it seems to be a good decision. I have not run into some of the issues that other reviewers have mentioned; "Muddy sound," etc Time will tell

ok i started looping with a 20 sec digitech pedal..never had enough time to do anything...fast forward to today..rc1 gives you 13 min...rc2 16 min...rc3 3 hours...i have a rc2 and really like saving 11 phases...i suspect the rc1 is simplier and easier to learn...the rc2 is complicated to learn, but awesome..i noticed the rc1 can be bought new at samash and the rc2 isnt available...i like boss products..built to last.. Being able to save your work is a must...that why the 3 is calling me...99 spots to save.

The RC-1 is excellent. Super simple to use, very self-explanatory, small size which makes for easy packing/travel. Boss makes very sturdy pedals as well; my first pedal was a Boss DS-1, I still have it and it works like it did when I bought it. Very reliable.

Great for one man bands

Sometimes you have a lot of great ideas but no one to play with at that moment in time. The RC-1 loop station is the perfect pedal to have in those moments. Record your rhythm part and then loop it so create a lead part. You get 12 minutes of recording time which is more than enough to get an idea down to show your band.

This is the only looper pedal you will ever need. It's great for learning to solo over a certain progression, learn licks, perform, or just have fun with.
