The GEB-7 is a seven-band equalizer created specifically for the frequency range of the electric bass. Since the frequency range extends down to 50Hz, the GEB-7 is also great for adjusting depth and bottom end of an upright bass with pickups. The GEB-7 can also be used as a low-pass filter creating an ultra-low synth-like sound.

  • 50Hz to 10kHz frequency range specifically designed for bass
  • Full range response, even for five- and six-string basses
  • Can be used as a "boost" or "cut" pedal using the level control knob
  • Great for eletric-acoustic bass applications
  • AC adaptor or 9V battery operation

Don't Overlook This

I have always looked to get a warmer, more open tone from most of my basses, but I never realized how much precise control over the different frequencies can make. I am not into distortion for bass at all, so a few people suggested this unit. I am so glad I bought it! It enables you to custom tailor the sound of your bass more than you could imagine. One of my basses is an Epiphone Jack Casady, which is a warm, woody-sounding bass to begin with, but run through the Boss GEB-7, you can make it sound even warmer and open. I have found that boosting the lowest slider control just a little, and then boosting the mids to taste gives me the sound I like. I also use it with a custom Jazz bass and an Ibanez BTB. You have to experiment with the unit, because it responds a little differently to different pickups and between passive and active instruments, but it always helps. I use it to get a warmer sound, but it will also give you a harder, in-your-face metal tone. You just have to experiment with it a little. I never realized such a simple, inexpensive unit would due so much to change a bass' tone. It can also boost your signal, so it's the first step towards distortion if you want that. This is a great unit! Buy one! Thank you, Boss, and thank you, Raymond in the Manhattan store for recommending this.

I've been playing music for a long time now and have been on the active indie circuit for close to 19 years. I'm still in my 30s but carrying around a heavy rig isn't as easy anymore. This pretty much sums it up for me in a stomp box. It has deep rich tone for your lows, never drowns out your mids while keeping your highs bright and clear. The number/quality of tones you can get from the GEB7 is as vast as your imagination. It can add a dark, punchy, heavy tone to your sound even before adding distortion. It can bring out the slap n pop out of your bass just with a few tweaking. Hell it even gave life to my passive P Bass that I use it again for practice---and I hardly use that bass anymore. I use it for practice--and I never gig without it. I use it with my Fender J for live shows and its BAD[*]!And if you do plan to get this--get it at your friendly neighborhood SAM ASH! I'm not affiliated with them or being paid to say it but the price [...] I get out of SAM ASH saves me the trouble & the heartache

The Equalizer Pedal is the Best!

This pedal is the best thing to boost levels without distortion. The pedal is so versatile that any weak sound coming through the amp is changed immediately. You will get the best sound out of your bass that you possibly can. This pedal rocks!!

Simply Amazing

I've owned this EQ pedal for awhile now and it never fails and can stand up to a more expensive pedal but simply put it's an amazing pedal for the cost so i would get it. The only flaw i seen is the battery compartment is a bit hard to find but i am an idiot so you may be able to find it faster then me (it's under the pedal)...
