I'm primarily a finger player, so dynamics are huge in my playing. Many bass distortions sound awesome with a pick, but can be hard to get right otherwise. Once I got it dialed in, I can back off on the volume on my bass a hair, and get a nice saturated low tone, then crank up the volume, hit the strings and rock. I've tried so many distortions that I've lost count, this one is the best for me, my hunt is over. The blend knob is key, you can set it so there's no change in your bottom end when you kick it on. I had to run line selectors/loops with an EQ to even out my tone with other boxes, not so with this thing. It also has a wide range of tones, each knob is really sensitive and will affect the behavior of others, so be sure to commit some time to dialing in exactly what you want. Still not sure why these aren't more talked about on the bass forums and such, this pedal is one of the best, and at a fair price. I think if they asked $250 for it, people would call it 'boutique' and go nuts.
