Squier captures the '70s mojo and sound with the Vintage Modified Jazz Bass '77.

The Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass '77 will take you back to the decade in which the Jazz Bass found new avenues of expression, cementing its place in music history. As popular music began to expand stylistically, so did the Jazz Bass. Though already an iconic instrument and an industry standard at that point; bassists of all styles began to incorporate their Jazz Basses. Whether it was disco, funk, or the rising metal and punk movements, the Jazz Bass was embedded in the sound and style.

The Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass ’77 features an agathis offset contoured body, outfitted with dual Fender-Designed Single-Coil Jazz Bass pickups. The maple neck features a slim-tapered “C”-shape with a vintage-tint gloss finish.  Other features include a white-bound 9.5”-radius maple fingerboard with 20 medium jumbo frets and stylish white pearloid block inlays. Other vintage-style appointments include a period-correct three-ply black-white-black pickguard, vintage-style four-saddle bridge and open-gear tuners. Case not included.

Features:
  • Vintage-tint maple neck with “C”-shaped profile
  • 20-fret maple fingerboard with white binding and white pearloid block inlays
  • Dual Fender-designed single-coil Jazz Bass pickups
  • Black pickguard
  • Case not included

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass '77:

I play at home and at church. It has that jazz bass sound that I love! The feeel of the neck is great. The highs are not overwhelming and the bottom end is not muddy. It is very responsive. I did have to adjust the neck slightly but that was big deal. If you want a great bass and are on a budget, then I recommend this bass.

Great bass at this price point

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass '77:

I'm a big fan of fender basses, and this Squier does a very good job of creating that sound and feel. I highly prefer the big block inlays and binding on a jazz neck over no binding and side dots, so this jazz caught my eye right away.

The fit and finish are great, electronics work well, although at some point I might replace the electronics with some DiMarzio's or EMG's, and maybe one of the new Fender High Mass bridges, we'll see as it sounds good as it is.

Tuners work great, no issues there, feels, plays and sounds like a jazz bass should!

    Nice purchase for the price.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass '77:

The bass has a nice feel, decent sound and a low price. I am a songwriter who uses this bass to record demos. I do not know how it would do on the road or how a full time bass player would rate this instrument. However, it does exactly what I purchased it to do.
