High quality, low price

The potencial of the sound of this saxophone is great, including the presentation of it, I am very satisfied with it. I will recommend it

Great instrument for the price

I just bought this instrument for my son, who plays in a Symphonic Band in High School....He is a Sophomore and has been playing Alto Saxophone since sixth grade. He wanted a Soprano Saxophone for Christmas and loves this instrument.....He has studied Jazz at the University Of Louisville, and heard some of the Jazz Teachers playing the Soprano Saxophone........This Selmer is a very good deal for the price.......He believes that it's the musician that makes the instrument sound great and that a talented musician can get a sweet sound out of an ordinary instrument....... The proof, for me, is in the sound that I hear when he plays this Soprano.....Look out world!

Pleased With The Outcome, Worth The Risk

Let's be real- the musical instrument is a steal. I've gone on the web and listened to or read comments on non-French Selmers and the quality of the mouthpiece that comes with the axe and such; but, I've found that most of the comments were written by people who had never played the instrument. Ignore them- and listen to me. The horn plays like a dream and required no adjustments. I was looking for a "subway horn"- this one far exceed my expectations for the price and for what I intended to use it for. I have two mouthpieces with the axe- the stock ebonite mouthpiece that came with it is good for classical- especially if you're using a 2 1/2 reed and want to cover an oboe or English horn part. If you want it to be a distinct sound then use a 3 or a 3 1/2 and adjust your embouchure just a little. To be honest, I feel that Selmer loyalists may judge the horn inappropriately. But, it has a nice weight, good action in the keys for the price. I've trained on Yamahas, Selmers, Conns and Bundys. If you're looking for a "throw-away" soprano this isn't for you; but, if you're looking for a low-cost horn with intermediate (not beginner but intermediate)-level sounds, you need to buy this horn. It is not a cheap knockoff- it is a champion for the price.
