The P.Mauriat PMXA-67R alto with rolled tone holes has great response from the lowest notes through the highest notes, and produces a huge, fat sound. The dark lacquer antique-look finish is not only wonderful to look at, but it gives a unique warm quality to the already rich sound. It is slightly darker than the gold lacquer version. P. Mauriat Saxophones were designed with a priority on sound, going after a quality that is frequently compared to some of the great vintage horns of the past. They are often described as having the best of the popular vintage saxophones combined with modern technology.

    •  Big, rich sound with freeblowing characteristic •  Made from high-quality French brass •  Even response from low to high •  Beautiful hand engraving and blue-green key pearls •  Includes mouthpiece, cap, ligature, neckstrap, cork grease, polishing cloth, case w/shoulder strap and warranty card

Why buy a P.Mauriat?
Music is a medium for a person to realize their thoughts, to speak a language that has no boundaries, to express life's beauty and sadness. In this endeavor an instrument can be a barrier between the player and the imagination that distorts the true intention. P.Mauriat has given the world a line of saxophones that are not obstacles, but keys that unlock doors in creative minds.

The creation of a P.Mauriat saxophone is second to none. French brass, used in combination with other metals, is super resonant because of the extensive hand hammering process it undergoes in our factory. A single saxophone section will be hammered as many as 400 times before it moves on to some one else's expert hands for the final shaping. Each tone hole is drawn from the saxophone one by one to ensure the precision and consistency required for excellent response and intonation. The lacquer is applied in three stages to the vintage saxophones, to achieve a timeless look that will last through the years. Finally, the hand engraving is masterfully accomplished with nothing other than a simple hand held tool and years of experience. The embodiment of asthetic beauty and technical precision, P.Mauriat Saxophones have arrived.

P.Mauriat Saxophones are different than all others because they are hand made from start to finish. Every process that the saxophone is put through, from shaping to lacquering to engraving, is carried out by a living, breathing person. Vibrant life is what sets these saxophones apart from all the others. With so many brands falling into a mediocre shade of grey, P.Mauriat stands tall and full of color.

P.Mauriat Saxophones are high quality instruments that are manufactured under the highest standards. In the unlikely event there is a problem. P.Mauriat warrants its saxophones when purchased or leased from an authorized P.Mauriat dealer, to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one year.

Sam Ash Sold me the WORST Saxaphone ever

There are extreme intonation issues with this saxophone! Issues that may not be able to be repaired. The sales person sold this terrible instrument. I purchased it cash for my son for $2,685! I am so so disappointed! This a supposed to be one of the best saxophones...well the one that they sold me is not. Please be warned!!!!

After long awaited sax arrive, I am actually very disappointed in the quality of the sax. (especially at this price point) I would say this is an ok sax. for student, but the quality(sound, play ability) is far away advance/professional player. Definitively not worth the money.

Surprised me

I tried one of these at Sam Ash with my mouthpiece (Meyer 6M) while killing time before a gig. I'm generally anti-new horns (I play a Mark VI) but this one surprised me. It was better than the Yamaha Z and the Selmer Series III they had hanging up. It felt and played like my VI. If I were buying another horn, I'd go with it. The feel was very open, but the tone held it's dark quality. It looked beautiful, almost too good. Rolled tone holes too, sweet. In any case, it's nice to know someone out there is making horns that aren't so one dimensional.
