Outstanding Reed for all occasions

I use a 3 1/2 FOF paired with a Theodore Johnson TJ3 mouthpiece (go to his website...38 years as Cleve. Orch. clarinetist, now making great mouthpieces). A little adjustments on the side make almost every reed a great one. Superb cane, wonderful sound in all registers. For many years, I used a Cicero Kaspar mouthpiece with Vandoren 5 reeds (needed cane to work with). Maybe two out of a box were serviceable for my pro work. Sold my Kaspar's and will never play a Vandoren again. I am grateful to have had the Gonzalez reeds recommended to me. They are superb in every respect. Many of my associates are playing Gonzaez now, as well. And try those TJ3 Theodore Johnson mouthpieces!

Amazing reeds!

I bought these reeds in a 3.75 and they work very well AFTER they are broken in. Many people who play at school just take out a reed straight from the box and use it. You can't do that with these! These reeds are great! You just need patience to break them in properly. It took me about 2weeks to break one in. It was so worth it though! Do buy these reeds! Once broken in, they are a million times better than vandoren! They do run a little harder than normal reeds. Like my 3.75 is a 4 on a traditional vandoren.

The Only Reed You Need

I've been playing for 30 years and was a die hard Mitchell Lurie player for many years. When their quality began to wane, I tried a box of Gonzalez FOF and have never looked back. My beginner through advanced students use them also. Don't pay big $$ for 4 playable Vandorens when you can get 10 great reeds in a box. I've yet to get an unplayable reed in 8+ years of playing on these. The 1/4 sizes are great for transitioning students and for working on stamina. Try a box!
