The updated ATH-50X features the very same coveted sonic signature but now with the added convenience of detachable cables.

The ATH-M50’s boasts 45 mm large-aperture drivers with rare earth, Neodymium magnets and copper-clad aluminum wire voice coils, coupled with circumaural design contours around the ears that yield excellent sound quality and isolation in all environments and applications. All this results in superior clarity throughout an extended frequency range, with deep, accurate bass response. Very distinct In its sound reproduction

I use mainly for recording guitar acoustic and electric and some listening To music. Seems to handle highs and lows very good I would say these are very good sounding and professional looking head phones and the price was right. Thanks Sam Ash!

Easy for Transport

Best sounding headphones I have ever heard.

I bought these at Sam Ash. Paid pretty much "list" price. WORTH EVERY PENNY. If you want "look at me I am listening to music" headphones, these are not for you. But if you want the best sound under $300 (that I have experienced) these are your best bet. I am no professional audio engineer, but I have a great ear and these are very pleasing to my ear.

Awesome Headphones

I took the risk and bought this headphone with the fear of me wasting my money. I've had a few headphones in the past and up to this day I don't have any of them. So far this headphone is the best that I've came across. Clear sound and it is also very comfortable. This headphone was prepared for every task that I threw at it. From just listening and enjoying some music to mixing in my home studio. I say get it. Its worth the money.

Awesome Headphones!

If you're looking for great studio or audio headphones then the M50's are the absolute way to go. I haven't found a pair that are this comfortable to wear! I always thought I had to spend tons of money for some over ears that not only were a joy to wear but also had the clarity to really section off every instrument track until I tried the M50's. These things are amazing! I'm a staff reviewer for Sam Ash.
