I had been playing through 2 separate 4/10 cabs. One was an 750 Watt 8 ohm Peavey, the other, an Behringer 1200 Watt 4 ohm cab.. I am currently using an Mesa-Boogie M9 Carbine Amp.. The best decision I have ever made, was buying the Mesa Amp.. The very close second, was the purchase of the Ampeg SVT 810 cab.. I had good sound from my 4/10's, but, I must say, when I plugged into the Ampeg, I never knew how much sound I was missing. Very solid bottom, with very crisp highs. The warmth and clarity is unmatched by my old stack. I couldn't be more pleased, except, if I were to add another SVT 810,(which I could, if I were to play Soldier Field). My band mates all noticed the more Rich of a sound I was making, and were all very impressed. It is a bit heavy, but hey, I'm a Bass Player, EVERYTHING about Bass is HEAVY. I will never go back to anything else the rest of my playing career. If you want the best sound in the business, go with this Bass Cab. I am an AMPEG fan for life. Thanks AMPEG.
