All the entry level bass amps are roughly the same price. I simply choose the one that said Ampeg. It works great, has a nice tone and the controls work well. In a band practice setting, I would like to have had some more volume, but the guitarist and drummer said that it worked for them to hear the bass. It seems to be well made and I am happy with my purchase!

Just got this for Christmas with a new Epiphone Thunderbird bass. Perfect for in-home practice. Plenty of volume for using in my basement or living room.

Needed a small rehersal rig for an R&B act I'm working with. Since I have all the gigging gear I need for large venues, I didn't want to drop a ton of bread for this item. These new Ampegs are very well made, the 108 weighs in at just under 30#. Controls have a smooth solid feel. Nice 60 degree tilt back feature. Plenty of volume, not so much traditional Ampeg growl but a nice warm organic tone, very analog. All in all you'll be hard pressed to find anything else in this price range that is as solidly built, with a legendary company standing behind it.
