I finally found a drumstick with a consistent service life. With wood sticks, as the wood chips and splingters along the shank, the bounce and feel of the stick changes and often breaks without notice. With aluminum sticks, you just have to replaced the sleeves & tips (at less tha half the price of wood sticks) and they should last forever. Get a spare set in case you drop one at a gig and you're ready to play for a long time without replacement. They are also very well balanced when your hands are at the butt end of the stick, which yields a fast response. And finally, the aluminum weight gives a full, solid and crisp sound on the drums...perfect.
