A Deluxe Take on a Taylor Favorite: The Taylor 214ce-K-DLX Koa Deluxe Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar.

The back and sides of the 214ce-K-DLX Koa Deluxe Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar are crafted from a beautifully figured layered Hawaiian koa paired with a solid Sitka spruce soundboard with a full-gloss finished body and a matching inner veneer  to cater to this guitar's upscale appearance. Tonally, layered koa and Sitka spruce give the 214ce-K-DLX it's clear, well-balanced tonality across the entire spectrum, and whether you're strumming chords or playing a nice fingerstyle arrangement, the Grand Auditorium body is sure to deliver. The Grand Auditorium body shares the same length, width and depth as the dreadnought body, but has a smaller waist. These refined proportions give the GA it's unique acoustic voice while making it the most musically versatile of all the Taylor shapes, perfect for any musical scenario you throw at it—whether your recording in the studio or on the stage, performing with a band or performing solo, the Grand Auditorium won't disappoint. On top of it all, the body of the 214ce-K-DLX  features cream binding and a smooth-lined venetian cutaway for enhanced accessibility to those higher frets. The gloss finished sapele neck on the Taylor 214ce-K-DLX is topped with an ebony fingerboard and features beautiful small diamond inlays.

Typically, the 200 Series features the Taylor ES-T electronics, but the 214ce-K-DLX comes fully equipped with the top-of-the-line Taylor Expression System 2 (ES2), generally reserved for the higher end Taylor models.

This attractive deluxe package is completed by a Taylor standard hardshell case (rather then the hardbag included with the standard 214ce-K acoustic) to provide this 214ce-K-DLX with superior protection.

Great price for Koa wood guitar

This Koa wood Taylor 214ce is an amazing acoustic. You rarely find a Koa wood guitar in such a great price range. I love the way Koa ages and the sound will change slightly over time depending on how the guitar ages. Really nice rich sound all around and the electronics allows you to project that great tone.

Beautiful Guitar, Beautiful Sound

One of the best guitars I have ever played. Full sound, low action and feels good to play. Sounds great plugged in or unplugged. Everything works properly, no buzzing frets, or loose tuning pegs. The look is incredible, definitely well justifying the price. Taylor makes some amazing products but, I can always find myself going back to this one time and time again. This is 100% recommended for anyone who is a serious guitar player, and admirer of beautiful craftsmanship.

Great Taylor Acoustic!

This Taylor 214 is one of the best guitars on the market. It has a great tone and sounds great plugged in. These are awesome guitars to own.

Beautiful sounding guitar!

The Taylor 214 series is a great choice for anyone looking to get a professional guitar without busting the bank. The neck is smooth, slim and easy to play and it feels good in your hands. The koa wood helps the guitar to resonate beautifully and the pickup sounds great too! It's got a sleek, simple design and will last a lifetime if kept with proper care. All in all this is a fantastic guitar for the price and I'd recommend it for any players out there.

I bought one for my girlfriend!

I sampled this at the store and within only a few minutes, I was convinced this is the right guitar for my girlfriend. It fits small hands nicely and isn't a big bulky b00b hurting guitar. Don't laugh. This matters.

Big sound Small price!

Dang does this thing sing! The brightness is out of this world and still retains great bass. The playability is out of this world and rivals my Les Pauls playability. The pickup is perfect and sounds just like the guitar does when unplugged. The wood looks as amazing as the guitar sounds. If you need a killer acoustic and don't want to break the bank look no further!

Exciting to look at and extremely versatile tonewise

Well let's just say I'm a huge fan of Taylor guitars and Hawiian Koa wood so what's not to love here? Koa is a rare tonewood that only grows in Hawaii, as if that's not exotic enough for you check out all the beauty each individual piece of Koa will have. It gets some amazing flames, three dimensional qualities as well as variations in colors ranging from blonde, caramel, all the way to dark espresso. Pictures usually don't do the wood justice. I like to think of it as sounding similar to Mahogany (very rich, well balanced, and detailed mid range) but as it opens up over time the low end has some powerful tendencies closer to rosewood and the highs have a unique crisp character similar to a good maple. What this gives you paired with a spruce top is a wonderfully rich and balanced sound that works for a multitude of playing styles. The Grand Auditorium size is one of my favorites as it sounds great with strumming and fingerpicking and gives plenty of volume for most applications. With the built in Expression system you are ready to plug in and play live, mike it up and the studio and be prepared for ear pleasing tones. So if you are in the market for a beautiful and highly versatile acoustic-electric check out this gorgeous Koa model from Taylor. Did I mention Taylor includes a great hardshell case in the deal? All in all I find this model to be extremely inspiring and musically pleasing you owe it to yourself to check this out the next time you're in the market for a great acoustic.

Love the Koa

I have always loved the sound and playability of Taylor guitars. The 214CE has a layered Hawaiian koa top paired with a solid Sitka spruce soundboard which gives it an amazing sound! I can't forget the Taylor Expression System which accents the sound of this beautiful instrument! Comes with a well made hard shell case as opposed to a bag (but their bags are still really nice). The 214 is also a little smaller than others but still projects a very big, beautiful and robust sound!

Luxury and Versatility

This amazing guitar is extremely well-crafted and plays like an absolute dream. If you're looking for a guitar that projects like a professional dreadnaught but feels a bit more comfortable to play, you need to look no further. The dimensions are nearly the same as a typical dreadnaught, but features a smaller waist which allows for greater comfort, and gives this guitar a unique design. I truly could not find a bad thing to say about this guitar as it has exceeded any and all expectations that I could have; from the beautifully chosen Koa and spruce, to the attention to detail in the binding, this guitar screams "Taylor"-made in every way. Yes it is a bit expensive, but you are truly getting a quality instrument that you could never regret.
