The Michael Kelly 1955 is crafted of a gorgeous swamp ash body topped with quilt maple and complemented by a genuine flame maple binding. The neck is crafted from maple, topped with a maple or ebony fretboard. The 25.5" scale length is perfect for the tension of the strings which is what would have been used in the 50s.
The modern "C" neck profile provides you with ultimate playability and comfort when you're going for fast fret action! The Rockfield pickups designed for the 1955 also speaks in volumes. You are able to manipulate your tone from vintage to modern at the push of a tone knob. Thanks to the power of the Great 8 mod you have so much tonal capabilities.
The Great 8 Mod
The Great 8 mod is a feature that we are seeing on most of the Michael Kelly models and there's a reason for that. This sets their guitars apart from the rest. Thanks to this feature we're able to see what its like playing a guitar that can switch from a humbucker, to a single-coil instantly. Each pickup is fully controllable as far as what you would like to hear from them.
