Yamaha made the YFH-631G to meet the needs of the professional player! Hand-lapped pistons and slides ensures an absolutely perfect fit and seal between the pistons and casing or slide parts. Such a perfect fit helps achieve smooth air flow and smooth action and improve the response and intonation of the instrument. Monel pistons are resistant to corrosion and are an ideal choice for professional flugelhorn pistons which must retain precise precise fit and smooth action over many years. Perfectly rounded tubing results in less turbulence and a smoother airflow, thus allowing for an excellent scale and reduced resistance. Tuning is made easier with the movable mouthpiece receiver. A high-energy laser fuses the brass together for a virtually seamless bell which allows continuous even vibrations.Specifications:

Comments about Yamaha YFH631G Professional Bb Flugelhorn:
I have owned this horn for 5 year and it has the sweetest tone. U use it for jazz songs, accompanying vocalists or to solo. It is simply the finest horn I have ever owned-and I am a trumpet player but I can not put it down...the sound is etheric, warm, and simply amazing for a horn that is not hand made. Yamaha trumpets are good, I have a Bergeron LA Yamaha trumpet but I prefer my Schilke, have not played a lot of Flugel horns but I can say that I have never wanted any other....while on trumpet I am always thinking a certain horn might make me play better-i cannot play better than on this. It is so easy to play, my lip never tires of the Schilke 11f4 mouth piece that comes standard with it....it does dent easily so be careful with the bell. And I have had the lead pipe extender also bend so handle with care-it is not a Schilke wrt thickness of metal but the tone is amazing...think i may have said that..
