The Yamaha YDP-V240 is an ensemble console digital piano featuring 88-note Graded Hammer Standard weighted Action. It has the authentic look, feel and most importantly the sound of an expensive acoustic Grand piano. Its 88-key graded hammer action keyboard delivers all the expressiveness, depth and subtle nuances to satisfy even the most demanding pianist, from developing student to seasoned professional.

Housed in a sturdy, smart looking dark rosewood cabinet complete with a sliding key cover and built-in sheet music rest, the Yamaha YDP-V240 looks like a rich piece of furniture that will accent any home with a touch of class together with a stellar piano sound. In addition, there are over 490 of Yamaha’s 3-level AWM Dynamic Stereo Sampling voices and 12 drum kits loaded inside the YDP-V240 taken from Yamaha’s extensive sample and synthesis collection. You can enhance the sound by tapping into any of the 238 onboard DSP effects. Reverb, distortion, chorus and other dynamic processing tools help add some polish to your sounds.

160 surprisingly realistic auto accompaniment presets covering many popular styles and genres make things fun and exciting, providing you with a full backing band experience.  The tracking is very good as the accompaniment responds instantaneously to your playing. Graded Hammer Action means that the YDP-V240’s 88 keys have a heavier touch towards the bottom notes and a lighter touch as you climb up the octaves, just like a real acoustic piano. Tempo, transposition and tuning functions are easily accessible from the top panel.

There are 2 USB ports that will help to expand your connectivity options. USB To Device lets you hook up a USB flash drive or hard drive and USB To Host lets you connect to your computer (PC or MAC) to work with your favorite music software. This will enable you to record and arrange your music utilizing the Yamaha YDP-V240’s multi-timbral sound engine and have many of its instrument voices playing at once.

The built-in Music Database contains titles of famous, traditional and standard song titles. When you call up one of the titles it adjusts all the panel setting of the YDP-V240 to provide the ideal combination of style and voices to fit that song. You can now use these settings for your own songs or jams in that specific genre. Additional titles can be downloaded directly from the Internet via the USB connection.

Another interesting feature of the Yamaha YDP-V240 Arius Digital piano is Performance Assistant Technology (P.A.T.). When you play along with a song and utilize this feature, regardless of what you play comes out sounding right! In other words, even beginners who don’t yet play piano can sound and appear like they do, even if you hit the wrong notes. Just keep in time with the music and you’ll sound like a world-class professional pianist!

Do you need piano lessons? The built-in Yamaha Education Suite (Y.E.S.) is an advanced set of helpful learning tools built into the YDP-V240 Digital Piano helping you teach yourself how to play and perform piano. It provides easy, 3 step lessons:

1. Playback of as song will wait for you until you play the correct key;
2. The song will follow your tempo;
3. The song will then play at the correct tempo minus one, which is the part you’ll be playing.

This makes learning easy and fun as it keeps pace with you until the point that you’ll need to keep pace with it.

All functions and selections are spelled out on the top panel’s 4.6” LCD display, easy to read even in low-light settings. You can also view the musical notation and lyrics of songs you play all on the same screen.

Audio connections include L/R stereo ¼” outputs. 2 built-in speakers are powered by a pair of 20- watt amps providing rich, full sound quality. There’s a built-in headphone jack for private listening. Feeling creative? The Yamaha YDP-V240 has an onboard 6-track recorder. There’s a 30,000-note capacity and you can store up to 5 of your compositions.

With it’s handsome rosewood cabinet, 88-weighted keys, 64-note polyphony, built-in accompaniment, onboard effects, built-in lessons, incredible sound quality and famous Yamaha pedigree, the YDP-V240 Digital Piano will bring joy and wonderful musicality into your home and life. Pull up a bench and get busy!

      Comments about Yamaha YDPV240 Arius 88 Key Digital Piano:

      I purchased the Yamaha YDPV240 from Sam Ash in June. I have been very pleased with the sound, the features and the appearance. I have been playing electronic keyboards for many years and my son plays classical piano. We wanted an instrument we could both use and enjoy and this was the best one we came across. We have the instrument hooked up to external speakers (KRK) which make the sound even more incredible. I love the 2 headphone jacks; we have one we use for the speakers and the other for headphones, which can by hug beneath the keyboard. The voices and music styles are varied and quite enjoyable and the piano sound is also very realistic. I have not yet tried connecting the instrument to a pc, but this is another feature I am eager to try. You can also record music to download onto a USB stick and transfer to your computer. This is a very beautiful instrument and quite pleasing to the ears. I would highly recommend it.

        Comments about Yamaha YDPV240 Arius 88 Key Digital Piano:

        I purchased this digital piano over a month ago from Sam Ash and have been very happy overall. My son plays classical piano and organ and wanted a digital piano. I have been playing keyboards for many years, but I play by ear, for fun, and do not read music. We set out to find an instrument that would satisfy both of our musical appetites and this was the one. It satisfies both the professional musician and novice alike. It has built-in learning tools to help the beginner learn how to play. And professional musicians can have unlimited options in making great music. The rhythms and sounds are very realistic indeed and when you crank up the volume, it sounds like a full orchestra. I have the piano connected to a pair of KRK external speakers, which deliver a rich, full, sound. The piano has 2 headphone jacks, so we have the speakers connected to one and headphones to the other. The appearance of the instrument is also quite pleasing to the eye and should work with any decor. The instrument also has pre-set songs in the demo mode, which sound incredible.[...] It is quite heavy and would need 2 people to set it up[...] Overall, I find the Arius YDPV240 to be an amazing instrument and a joy to play. I would highly recommend this piano to anyone.
