Great sounding acoustic

By

from Edison, NJ

The Guild Westerly acoustic guitar is a great addition to any collection out there. The finish is beautiful and a real eye-catcher, and the build is sturdy and reliable. The neck feels comfortable in my hand and it's size makes it easy to play. The built in Fishman pickup sounds phenomenal also, I'd highly recommend this guitar for beginners and pros alike.

Small Body, Big Sound

By

from Edison, NJ

Staff Reviewer

I'm a huge fan of Grand Concert sized acoustics but it is hard to find a very good one under $1000. The Guild Westerly is one of the very few that are the exception to the rule. Mahogany body lends itself to a beautiful sound and you wouldn't know it has a smaller body shape with the big sound you get.

Great to have Guilds back

By

Guild is a guitar company that has been around for decades and has been known for making high quality instruments. These new Westerly collection instruments are no exception. This particular guitar features an African mahogany top and body so you get a wonderful rich musical tone that has a very pleasing midrange quality and smooth sound. The concert sized body is very comfortable and sounds great fingerpicked and would probably be a great studio guitar. With features like nubone nut and saddle and a built in fishman pickup these guitars come well setup and ready for stage use. If you want a guitar that plays and sounds great, might be something a little off the beaten path (since to many Guild isn't a household name), but still comes from a great lineage and history check out these fantastic new Guild Westerly collection instruments for yourself.

Top notch build!

Craftsmanship on Guild Westerly collection is top notch, bringing all solid wood acoustic tone to the masses. This guitar just oozes cool, and the shape and size just beckons to be played hour after hour. Very articulate, I find it best suited to fingerpicking which complimented the bright tone. Looking forward to the future with this guitar as the solid wood tone opens up with age.

    Guild M120E

It's a parlor sized acoustic, so it's smaller than the dreadnoughts and jumbo's. Despite its size, it's a great acoustic electric with a good dark sound ( it is solid afircan mahogany adding to that the Indian rosewood fretboard which helps balance it out). I have one just to have a different tone and feel (amongst my gibson's, etc) and I keep quality instruments in my collection. This is no different in quality either, maybe better in some aspects. I highly recommend

The Guild M120-E is a great value for the price. It's all solid wood. Plays easily. And sounds great. The neck has a comfortable C shape. The mahogany top offsets some of the brightness of the small body. With a Fishman pickup & polyfoam case this is value hard to beat.

This parlor guitar has an incredibly big and well-balanced sound. Intonation is perfect and the action feels great. The guitar looks an sounds beautiful. I spent a long time searching for just the right one. Because of an old shoulder injury, I need a smaller guitar. I look at the Taylor GS mini in Koa and Mahogany. They both sounded excellent but when I picked up this Guild, I knew this was it. It has a midrange that is nicely balanced . I found the Taylors to have a slightly darker and tighter sound. I like the more expansive quality that seemed to be the characteristic of the Guild.
