Samson dB500 15" 2 Way Passive PA Cabinet

The trapezoidal shape of the speaker cabinet offers more than just superior acoustics. Not only a front-firing PA speaker, the dB500’s are also designed to operate as wedge-style monitors. The dB500 offers several of mounting options. The compact cabinet can be easily stacked, permanently installed, mounted using the integral 1 3/4" pole mount receptacle or suspended using the six built-in fly points. Setup and break down is quick and easy.

They feature heavy-grade steel grills, scuff-resistant textured finishes and rigid corners that offer excellent protection against wear and tear. Neutrik® Speakon connectors are built-in to the dB500.

These were our practice and live speakers to replace our ElectroVoice 12" speakers. The speakers worked great for several years. We didn't crank them too hard until, of course, right after the warranty expired.These speakers DO NOT have a fuse, so you cannot simply user-replace a[$] part and have it work again.Of course, the crossover blew in one speaker, then the other about a week or two later. I couldn't justify purchasing a pair of new [$]crossovers, so we bought a pair of Peavey PR15s.I took the driver and the woofer out of these Samsons (in case the ones on my Peaveys blow, which is unlikely) and tossed the enclosures in the trash, where they rightfully belong.BTW, these things are a pain to take apart, I didn't have a screwdriver with a foot-long shaft so I used a hacksaw.For some reason, all Samson products have ridiculous weight and poor long-term reliability. Our Samson PA, bought at the same time as these speakers, now has 2 broken outputs and several broken 1/4" inputs. Our Samson headphone mixer started making noise out of the 4th channel only a week after we purchased it.Bottom line:Stay away from these speakers IMO. The Peavey PR15s are cheaper, have very similar performance, WEIGH ABOUT 2.5 TIMES LESS, and the crossovers have a fuse that is easily replaceable.
