WOW, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL GUITAR GOT IT LAST NITE AND JAMMED FOR HOURS MY FINGERS GOT A WORK OUT FOR SURE. AT FIRST LOOK I WAS INPRESSED WITH THE FINISH COLOR AND FRET INLAY. THEN UPON PLAYING IT THE SOUND WAS EXCELLENT EXPECIALLY THE A AND D STRING WHEN POUNDED ON ALSO THE G,B& E STRING RING LIKE A CHARM. THE FIT FOR ME 6 FOOT 215LBS GUY WAS PERFECT I HAVE MANY GUITARS BUT THIS IS ONLY MY SECOUND ACCOUSTIC MY FIRST ONE, AN OVATION ROUND BACK IS EXCELLENT BUT IT IS HARD TO HOLD ON TO WHILE SITTING DOWN BECOUSE IT WANTS TO SLIDE DOWN MY LEG BECOUSE OF THE ROUND BACK. I REALLY WANTED TO GET A SMALL ACCOUSTIC SO AS TO PLAY LIKE MY ELECTRICS BUT I AM SO GLAD I GOT THE JUMBO IT DOES NOT FEEL JUMBO BUT IT SURE SOUND JUMBO AND NICE.THE NECK IS SMOOTH AND QUITE FAST. THE OCTIVES ARE CLEAR AND LEAD IS NICE WITH THE CUT AWAY.I DID NOTICE A LITTLE OCCASIONAL BUZ AND A BIT IF A TIN SOUND WITH SOME HIGHER NOTES BUT I AM SURE A NEW SET OF STRINGS AND MAYBE MAKE SURE IT IS PROFESSIONALLY SET UP BUT I WILL PLAY WITH THESE STRINGS UNTILL THEY WEAR AND MAYBE BRING IT IN TO PROFESSIONALLY SET IT UP IN ABOUT 6 MONTHS OR A YEAR. OUT OF THE BOX I JUST TUNED IT AND STARTED PLAYING SO IT CAME PRETTY WELL SET UP BUT YOU KNOW I AM A PROFECTIONEST AND KNOWING THAT IT IS SET UP RIGHT WILL MAKE ME HAPPY.ONE PROBLEM IS IT CAME WITH NO INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO USE THE TUNER, VOLUME ETC BUT I AM SURE I WILL FIGURE IT OUT AND I CANT WAIT TO PLAY IT THRU THE AMP AND PA SYSTEM. I AM A 46 YEAR OLD KID WHO PLAYED THRU HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE NOW THAT MY KIDS ARE OLDER I AM TEACHING THEM AND WANT TO GET BACK INTO WRITING AND PLAYING I CURRENTLY HAVE A DRUM MACHINE A PA AND MY GUITAR AND VOICE BUT I THINK I REALLY WANT TO START A BAND AGAIN BECOUSE HAVING GOOD MUSICIANS PLAYING WITH YOU AND THE VOCAL HARMONIES REALLY MAKE IT SOUND SOOOO GREAT. BUT THIS GUITAR WILL BE WELL USED AND APPRECIATED. THANK YOU SANTA ( ME HA HA ) AT FIRST I FELT GUILTY BUYING IT BUT IT IS A REALLY GREAT PRICE AT SAM ASH AND WHAT A BEAUTIFUL INSTRUMENT, I FIGURED HEY I PAY FOR ALL MY KIDS WIFE HOUSE DOG ETC ALL THE TIME WITH COLLEGE FUNDS CLOTHS ACTIVITIES WHY NOT GET SOMETHING THAT HAS MADE ME SO HAPPY AFTER ALL LIFE IS SHORT AND WITH TODAYS TECH I WILL BE ABLE TO LEAVE SOME MEMORIES FOR MY CHILDREN AND GRAND CHILDREN WATCHING AND LISTENING TO THEIR OLD MAN JAM. burns through batteries...needs an on/off switch...other than that, nice tone...slightly high action when new, fixed though, now very nice.

I bought this guitar[...]about a year and a half ago. When I pulled it out of the case (a nice hardshell custom fit case) I was surprised at how heavy it was. A solid, beautiful guitar. I love the looks.The main reasons I got the guitar was for the electronics and the looks, followed closely by wanting that jumbo boominess. The electronics are fantastic - this guitar sounds amazing plugged into my Fender Acoustasonic Junior amp - very boomy and plenty of bass. Takamines are known for their very nice electronics and this one does not disappoint.Unplugged, however, this guitar was a major disappointment. I have played other jumbos and they really boom. This one is almost whisper quiet. The sound is almost muffled, and I would guess it is because the gorgeous glossy finish was layed on way too thick. It literally sounds like a thin-bodied acoustic electric. Fit and finish left a little to be desired. I have some fret buzz and if you look where the neck meets the body of the guitar the fingerboard makes a little bump up. I am not entirely sure that a professional setup will elminate that bump, but should take care of the fret buzz.If I pick up this guitar to play unplugged first, instead of my dreadnought, then I think it sounds OK. If I pick it up second, well I think back to the old lady and the Wendy's commercial: Where's The Beef? For such a large round body this guitar simply lacks the clear boomy base a jumbo should have.I would recommend this guitar only if you could sit down with a number of them - perhaps I got one that really was oversprayed with the high gloss (I often wonder if I could improve it by sanding it down some to let the guitar resonate better...) OR you will be playing this primarily plugged in. Because plugged in to an amp made for acoustics (a cheap practice amp will make this guitar sound like doo) is where this guitar shines.Overall, if this was stolen, since I like to play unplugged alot I would not replace it with this particular model because of the unplugged sound. I would recommend this to a friend with the reservations I have listed.

I bought this guitar a month ago and I'm very pleased with it. It is gorgeous and sounds great plugged and unplugged. The construction is solid and clean. I love the electronics which provide me with more tonal possibilities and the tuner comes handy. With this one I own 7 acoustic guitars but this one is by far the least expensive and my favorite. Don't spend a fortune buying a really good guitar, buy this one and you won't be disapointed.
