I just came into the store and plugged this sucker into a Peavy Vypyr I was just blown away. I was iffy about les paul shapes because of the weight and feel but this guitar was light the neck contour was thin and it had a fret board similar to my Laguna so this guitar felt like it was right to me. The Emg 60 was a great pick up for rhythm even for a few solos. The locking tuners were a plus, the pickups were loud but what surprised me the most is how easy it was to use pinch harmonics. You can get a harmonic anywhere on the fret board and easily make it squeal. The clean sound was pretty good but because of Emg's you may have a hard time getting that sparkling clean tone i recommend a guitar with Duncans for that. I totally recommend this guitar you won't be disappointed.

So basically i played one for hours at my local guitar center and my heart cried tears of joy. This thing has a b-e-a-utiful tone and the pickups are just phenominal. The only thing is that there is a bit of fret buzz but after raising the action ever so slightly the problem was solved. I played the Vintage Black and it was not nearly as heavy as my gibson so if u find it heavy then i suggest a few minutes a day working out. Overall, great buy!

I own a Schecter C1 Elite, Epiphone Bullseye, Ibanez S, and now the ESP LTD EC1000. The ESP quickly became my favorite. Great quality, feel, sound, and looks. It plays so easily.

Ive been playing for 7 years now, and ive played a few guitars in my time playing that have sounded terrific, and many that have sounded awful. Thankfully this guitar falls in the first category. I picked this bad boy up from the store (with fret buzz but sam ash offers a free set up within the first month of purchase)and was ecstatic when i got home. The sound is amazing, harmonics are defined and easy to do, the neck is smooth and look is fantastic. their are only two cons. once you dial in the tune and go to lock the tune heads, the locks actually untune the guitar. so getting it in tune can be frustrating, but it stays in tune well. Also, the weight can be a problem for some. Im no weakling by and means, but i have some difficulty playing with a strap for long periods of time. if you dont have a good wide-thick-and-well-padded strap, the guitar can really cut in to your shoulder. Other then that, a fantastic buy. And with the recent price drop, it would be very ill advised to pass this up.

Very good guitar for the price. Although, if you buy it and don't get it professionally setup your getting a pretty bad deal. The original setup had so much fret buzz it was unplayable (to me at at least) they wanted to sell me some extended "warranty" with the guitar which included fixing the fret buzz. I'm thinking "nope" Fix the fret buzz before I buy it then I'll talk extended warranty.

So overall, the guitar has really good potential, depends on who is selling it to you. Shame there is so much inconsistency among the people you buy it from. I take it back, and they can't help me because they guy I bought it from isn't in?!?!?!? Wasted 60 mile round trip......

I bought this guitar about two months ago. I first seen it at Samash. I went in there looking for a Gibson, but ended up taking this home. The looks are incredible. This thing looks like it came out of a custom shop. I got this guitar in the trans blue, and it looks amazing.Ive been playing for about 7 years, and ive never played anything as sweet as this. for the price its definately worth it, if you want a guitar you can keep for a very long time and used for any kind of music. Those emgs sure do knock the pants right off of you, but their clean side is also a real sensation. I would have charged at least 2 grand for this, but thankfully they didnt. I only have two more words for you... BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This guitar is great. When I got it, it out performed much more expensive guitars. There was a buzzung on a few strings, but I fixed that.

Where to begin! I have owned and played this guitar on a daily basis for over two years now and still feel compelled to praise ESP for their efforts. I record allot and my demand for versatility and tone is high and the LTD ec-1000 never disappoints. I own several guitars but I always reach for my LTD. It's been 36 years since I picked up my first guitar and I have learned quite allot in that time so I figure I have earned the right to write this review. Nothing has been overlooked on this guitar. Every aspect compliments another. Construction, action, electronics, weight, materials, tone, tune ability,all the features a great guitar should possess.
I look at other manufactures and ask the question. If LTD can do this at this price why the hell can't you? I don't care what rock star plays it, its about what I play. I don't care about how it makes me look, I'm ugly and no guitar can change that (haha)What I do care about is what matters and that's an instrument that affords me the ability to express my creativity with confidence. So if you want to spend allot of money for a name and look cool, that's your choice. But if your looking for a guitar that always delivers you owe it to yourself to give this one test drive.

I use this guitar ANYTIME. it sounds amazing and fells great. it us definitly great if you like to shread and do solos or more heavy stuff. so far i havent found a problem with it and i plan to use this guitar for a long time.
