Hi all,First of all,let me say that I've tried all types,kinds,& brands of amps through my 25+ years of shreddin.Nothing beats the sound of a marshall.Especially combining it with a Les Paul.(my personal set up)This head keeps your set up simple without carrying all kinds of stomp boxes.The effects are nice.Except for the fact you cannot combine them.There is presets with combined effects.But not many.The 1st AVT head I had went out on me under warranty & Marshall did nothing to fix it.I was on my own.Also DONT buy it from [...],they will not give a loaner to get you through your gigs.All in all the head is very nice for the money.Even through my mishaps,I would still recommend this head.

A year or so ago I wasn't sure if I would be happy with this amp. 1 year later I'm buying another one. I will now have 2 AVT150h's sitting atop of twin 4x12 stacks each. The effect section appeared as if it may be cumbersome to navigate between songs...not so. I find it easy to pop to different sounds quickly with the well thought out footswitch, clean to crunch, clean to OD2 and so on. I worked with the eq a bit and found some great tones in the acoustic simulator. My acoustic electric {Ibanez AEL} also sounds great through this amp. It gives it a huge sound that cuts through the loudest of drummers with no problem. One great feature is it has a tube pre amp but no power amp tubes to replace...$$$$ works for me big time.

I got this amp home and immediately plugged it in to my twin stack (2 4x12's)and fired it up with my '96 strat (3 S.D. Hot Stacks) it emptied my adrenaline gland in 6 or 7 minutes. Throw the EQ anywhere, Scales, Power Chords, Sustain and Harmonic Balance in the feedback are elevated to a truly professional sounding level. If there is a God, I want to thank him for Jim Marshall and his, or my AVT150. .

W/ 1960 cab I finaly got the sound my 98' Les Paul standard has been asking me for. Without the need for a lot of pedals.

The tones you can get on this amp are endless. I really love acoustic sim and the clean tone on this amp. Built in effects should be ALL YOU WILL EVER NEED. If you cant get good tone from this head and the AVT412A cab you need to learn to work your EQ. Looking forward to completing the stack with the straight AVT cab soon. That should be awesome. I use my ESP LTD Kirk Hammy 503 and my Ibanez 320 SZ. Both sound great on this half stack. good luck and keep jammin. [...]

"For the price you just can't beat this amp...the features are inumerable: the ACOUSTIC SIMULATOR gives a great warm tone and if you futz around enough you will get an acoustic/electric ovation tone, the DELAY is pretty good, the FOOT BOARD is so good that I am getting rid of my board of pedals that I spent the last 5 years putting together. I am very happy with this purchase. I had went to the store to pick up the AVT50 Head and the guy made me try the 150...[...] The only thing stopping me from giving this amp 5 stars is that it won't conquer a JCM 800...but it can come damn close if you are on a budget like most of us! "

"Being the most indecisive person ever to play the guitar, it was very hard to choose a head unit that was going to fit many styles of music. I needed something that was powerful, versitile, reliable, and had good enough sound and effects so that i didn't have to haul all my pedals every time i played. After trying everything in sight this one seemed to be the best for my budget. The clean is great for additional effects, the OD1 has great classic crunch while OD2 with the mid pulled puts out a great ""nu metal"" sound. Th accustic sim is an amazing clean sound but doesn't sound like a real accoustic. The built in effects are strong but you are unable to mix and match to your preferance (or at least mine). I have played countless indoor and outdoor gigs without failure and she is still going strong. If you are in the market for a powerful reasonably priced head, what better way than with a genuine ""Made in England"" Marshall. Try one and you'll understand."

"The first thing that caught my attention was the Acoustic simulator. I read about this in a magazine and I just had to try it out. It basically is suppose to turn your electric guitar sound in a acoustic. Sounds to good to be true, huh. It is, I sat down, tried it out with a Gibson SG and Les Paul, a really warm clean sound is all I pretty much got. Besides that, very easy to use. If you want Over drive, just push a button, I would have to say, It is one of the easiest Marshall Amps to use. One of there cheaper ones to, they're always overpriced anyway."
