This is a nice guitar for anyone... beginner to advanced, although it can be a bit challenging to play when you are used to something very easy to play. The action is somewhat high on this guitar, although an experienced player can still play it. Other than the action, the biggest downfall to this guitar is the fact that the edges of the frets are very sharp... when I am sliding on the first string, the frets literally rip my calluses. It's not a good guitar for sliding on the first string but if you're not sliding, it's o.k. for everything else.

It actually has a nice tone to it and sounds good plugged into a good amp. The size makes it great for anyone looking for a thin body acoustic guitar.

I love this little guitar; it plays well, looks good, nice thin body, great neck, and nice action. My only gripe is the preamp. What do you do when these fail? [...] If you Robelli is out of warranty, and your electronics fail, you are S.O.L. The only alternative is to buy an aftermarket preamp, which probably won't fit in the old mounting hole, all this spells is $, and this is only a [$] guitar. Big bummer!

The guitar is really great considering its price tag. The sound and tone from it will please those who play it. The only Problem I have is that the tuning heads are flimsy. The bushings on them break easy and forces you to replace them. Replacements are hard to find because the angle in which the screw goes into is a 45 degree instead of a 90 degree, which most guitars use. Other than that its a great buy. I've had it for almost two years now and it treats me well.

I typically play the best-made guitars and this one is definitely not in that class. The craftsmanship is at best average, although the guitar does produce a decent acoustic and electric tone for the price - but again, look how much you are spending here. If you will not be using this guitar as a visual-only prop, and instead as an actual performing instrument, you will need to spend another $40 on some decent tuning machines such as Grovers (one of my stock machines broke off the second day - while tuning the guitar). The stock machines are poor metal quality and do not hold proper tuning for the guitar. A neck adjustment is likely in order as well.

If you don't want to spend over $200 for a decent guitar, adding the better tuning machines make this a good value in a beginning or goofing-around/campfire/drunk jam session extra guitar. However, if you are looking for an instrument to use professionally, save your nickels and get something better.

So yeah, I've owned this guitar for about 3 years now and I love it. The thing that pulled me in was the thin-cut body. I never really liked how thick most acoustics are, but this guitar is nice and slim without surrendering any tone. In fact, I own a few other acoustics and this guitar has a fuller, thicker tone than all of them. The neck is thin but not too thin. The cutaway could be a bit deeper, but how ofter do you really play down there on acoustic anyway? The only real thing I had a problem with was the tuning machines. They're cheap and were always loose and couldn't hold a tune for their life. but that's easily and cheaply fixed. I would highly recommend this guitar to anyone.

Sam Ash employee recommended this guitar without hesitation. I had never played and from what I read here online, it seemed like a good deal. After about a month, I realized that it wasn't me that was making the buzzing, it was the guitar. Took it in to Sam Ash for diagnosis. Neck was bent so badly it couldn't be fixed. He said he went thru about 4 or 5 other new guitars before he found one that was "acceptable" even it buzzed and required some massaging. The action was much higher on this one, difficult for me to play. I took it to a friend of mine who makes guitars and in his words " the neck is bent like a banana". He worked on it for about an hour, with no luck. We wound up putting the bend / high action back so that the frets would stop buzzing. We'll take another stab at it when we have more time.

Bottom line, if you buy this model, expect that you'll have to tweak it yourself to have it perform optimally. To the guys in the repair shop, its not worth their time to work on such a "cheap" guitar, they'll just grab another one out of the box for you.

I thought the reviews here were a little misleading, at least in my experience.

On a positive note, I do like the guitar, play it several hours a week, the electronics are good, and it stays in tune fairly well. I like to tinker with things anyway, so its been a learning experience.

I got this guitar for free from the store for one of those spend over $400 deals and i was suprised to find this was better than the acoustic I had bought. You probably will have to get the action lowered, I did, but now it sounds great. This guitar is great for beginner to intermediate and travel, but the electronics leave somthing to be desired. the guitar is very comfortable and is a great buy.

At first, I enjoyed playing this guitar with the slim design, having a great sound, good looking, and seemed to be good quality for the money. But after a couple of months, I noticed the action changing. With a closer look I could see the strings were pulling away from the fretboard, being higher near the body. It appears that either the neck or bridge are deflecting, or both, indicating this guitar is not structurally sound under the strain of tuned strings. And it is getting worse. Adjustments would be cost prohibitive approaching or exceeding the cost of the guitar. It is no longer fun to play this guitar. I guess you really do get what you payed for. My advise...do your homework and spend more on higher quality.

the thin body lends itself to be less feedback resistant than normal dreadnaughts..... I own two ( one in Nashville tuning)and w/ a FeedBack Buster over the sound hole, I get mininal if any feed back at stage volume levels.Great action. It doesn't have the "boominess" of a normal depth dreadnaught, as it is primarily designed to be played amplified.
The EQ-505R is perfect for me and has a battery check indicator, 3 band eq. and volume control and easily accessible battery box. For that,it is perfect for me. The Guitar Research 116-8E thinline gig bag is perfect for it also. A great value!!!!!!!!!!
