Featuring 24 amp channel models -- both the clean and distorted channels of 12 popular amps for the first time anywhere -- plus 11 editable preamp "stomp box" effects and 11 editable post-amp "rack" effects with dual-parameter control.

Players can use up to five effects simultaneously. When used with the optional Peavey Sanpera foot controller, the possibilities further expand from 12 in-amp presets to 400 programmable presets, with an on-board looper and more. 32-bit floating point Sharc processor. I bought a Peavey Vypyr 30 about a year ago thinking it'd be a cool practice rig with all its effects and amp settings: bad choice! I've had to exchange or return the amp five times! And the only reason I bother getting the same amp over and over is that I bought a$200 footswitch for it. It's a midi controlled switch and only works with the Vypyr amps. But now, I've had all I can take. This is amp number six and it started freaking out the other day. I saved a tone setting in the foot pedal board and then changed back to another preset; when I did, the tone got all muffled and sounded like someone had a pillow over the speaker cab. I tried changing modes, unplugging the pedal, and resetting the amp to no avail. Trash. DON'T BUY A PEAVEY VYPYR SERIES AMP!!! To make matters worse, I tried to get Peavey to take back the amp and pedals (still under warranty) in exchange for one of their Valve King amp heads. Their customer service department said they couldn't do that because of agreements they have with their vendors to not sell equipment factory direct and their would be a difference in value, requiring additional payment from me. Pretty pathetic that they don't value the people actually USING their products more than the stores who sell them. And the manager I spoke with declined to comment on the defect rate they have on the Vypyr amps. His only response was that they wouldn't be where they are today if their products were as poor quality as I had indicated. Duh! The Vypyr series is relatively new, and [*] made. If everything they had made in the past had this many problems, they'd have already gone bankrupt. If the Vypyr line is any indication of the quality of their other products being manufactured today, then Peavey's demise is certain.

wow...it is amazing all that this amp does...however i am new to this and honestly i am having one hell of a time trying to figure everything out...so many affects and adjustments...very complicated if you do not know what your doing...comes with 12 factory presets..turn your gain down before you switch between them...had a friend play around with it that has been playing for about 30 or so years...they went straight out to Sam Ash and bought one of their own.
a little much for me as a beginner but i am hyped to learn all i am able to do with it as i progress.

These guitar amplifiers really do feature endless sound combinations. Sound quality is excellent on the models with the 12" speaker. They can go from being really quiet to really loud, depending on where you set the dials. I have no doubt that any player of any style could use one of these amps to jam, record with or play live and get great sounds that fits their needs. I wish there was a simpler foot pedal to use in order to switch between presets but what they offer is what they offer. That would only be in a live playing situation of course. At home the amp alone is really all you need. Matter of fact it's probably the last amp you'll ever need unless you become a big time areana playing rock star!

The manufacturer's warranty covers guitars, basses, amplifiers, pre-amplifiers, mixers, electronic crossovers and equalizers for two years from date of purchase. An extended warranty is available for three additional years of coverage if a warranty card is completed and returned within 90 days of purchase. The warranty excludes damage from misuse, abuse, and contains other exclusions.
