This type of amp design eliminates the need for a heat sink, which typically is responsible for the heavy weight of many active PA enclosures. It provides 400-watts of power to the high-frequency compression driver and bass-pounding 15″ woofer. Mackie Active processing, including a precision crossover and driver time-alignment provides total optimization for maximum system efficiency. This ensures that the correct frequency is directed to the correct speaker component automatically. Very efficient! Around the rear of the speaker is an adjustable, switchable 3-band EQ with sweepable mid frequency. Use it to contour the response of the TH-15A in less-than-ideal conditions where the room you’re in has it’s inherent problems…you can carve out a friendly EQ to make up for those deficiencies. The EQ also comes in handy when attaching a microphone or instrument directly to the TH-15a, enabling you to dial in the perfect sweet spot so everyone in the house can enjoy your intended tone. So controlling! XLR input and XLR thru (use it to send signal to a subwoofer) as well as the master volume knob, power switch and AC cord socket round out the real estate on the back. The tough, impact-resistant polypropylene enclosure is engineered to be mounted on a pole, stand on it’s own 4 feet, or lay angled up on the floor as a floor monitor.
