I've been playing my Ibanez SR505 for 6 months now, and it's truly an outstanding instrument, I'm very happy with it. I've been playing bass since I was 15 and now I'm 42. I've played everything from Pop to Funk to Metal to Jazz Fusion to Praise and worship. The Bartolini pickups have an amazing sound for any type of music, and the radius from the low end of the neck to the high end is perfect. You can easily customize your tone in so many different ways, its like having a built in effects box inside of the bass.

And to make everything complete, the beautiful craftsmanship with the mahogany body and rosewood fingerboard will really make you stand out on stage or anywhere. I use my fingers, thumb, and I tap all over the neck, and I get outstanding tone all the way up to the 24th fret. The SR505 is nice and light, I can peform for hours without having to stop and have shoulder therapy...I love my Ibanez SR505 it's just plain fun to play, you can't go wrong...

I've had this bass about 1 year and a half now its an ok bass i play it in the jazz band at my school and I've noticed when i take solos sometimes ill hit some dead notes which obviously bad when on a gig. VERY durable I've taken this to school every day since the beginning of the scool year and its now march. so pretty durable. gets a nice finger sound but not a great "slap" sound. again dead notes in the second octave but what do you expect?

This bass is great it can practically be used for anything. I personally use it for death metal and the deep tones it is capable of are perfect for it.

Other than this bass needing a slight neck adjustment, this bass is sweet! Great feeling neck and sweet sounding pickups.You can get some great tones out of this bass. Well worth the money.BUY IT!

I've been looking forward to getting an affordable five-string that not only sounds good, but that's easy to play as well. This baby is all that and more! Low action, Great feel, Bartolini pickups, Good spacing, and a thinner neck to make it bass friendly for anyone! Ibanez did a very good job, I'm pleased.

I bought this bass a week & 1/2 ago and am loving the tones:-)i would change where the 1/4 jack has to be plugged in & the wood is very soft can be easily scatch & dent. but thats nutten to cry about.. A very good buy

I bought this bass about a month ago and i can't be happier with it. This baby offers some great tone and fast playability. This bass is great for almost all genre. It's got that great low sound when you need it and that high one too. What attracted me most was the equalizers on the bass, so i don't have to fix it on my amp during performances. Overall i recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to buy different types of basses and wants to buy one do-it-all bass

This is one very amazing bass for the price. Even twice the price would be a good deal! The neck is fast and smooth, the fingerboard is sweet, the active electronics are second to none. You can easily "dial in" any tone from deep and boomy to light and trebley. The body is light and solid. The only negative I could find is that the finish on the body may be prone to easy scratches and wear, but that won't affect the tone you will get from this bass. Two other musicians purchased this instrument while I was paying for mine! If you find one, play it. You WILL be amazed, too!
