KAOSS Effects
Korg’s KAOSS pad dynamic effects processors are known the world over for their innovative, great sounding effects. And microKORG XL offers 17 effects derived from the KAOSS series. Pamper your program in rich reverbs and colorful choruses or destroy it with decimation and distortion. There’s also grain shift, several types of delay, flanger and more. And you can apply two at a time to any program or multi-timbral performance.
Tactile Style
Three large knobs on the microKORG XL’s surface let you instantly modify the current sound to your liking. Whether it’s on the fly filter sweeps on or calculated envelope adjustments you’re after, the most important elements of the sound are never out of reach.
Go Deep!
Want even more control over your sound? Grab those knobs and explore the full edit mode with microKORG XL’s large backlit LCD screen as your guide. Choose filters, adjust AMP, EG and LFO settings, add effects, EQ your sound and save it all on the spot.
A virtual patch mode lets you assign aspects of the synthesis to control others. How about letting an LFO modulate the filter cutoff, or setting the modulation wheel to control EG1’s release time? And up to six virtual patches are available per program. With all of this customizability, the sonic possibilities are simply vast.
An Editor Librarian is also included with your microKORG XL, allowing full-screen editing and organizing of your sounds.
Stack Attack
Sure, the sounds are great all by themselves, but microKORG XL lets you take it one step with its performance mode, allowing you to stack any two sounds (preset or custom) to create splits and layers all your own! An external audio signal can also be used as one of the timbres. Plus, the sounds can be instantly tweaked separately or together via the panel knobs. It’s all up to you.
Vocode!
Switch to the dedicated vocoder bank and get ready to make some noise! Hop on the included detachable gooseneck microphone to add some wild vocoded vocals to your music, or switch to the external inputs to run any sound source you’d like through the vocoder.
Arpeggio to Go
microKORG XL includes a fully sync-able step arpeggiator. Choose from six preset arpeggio patterns (Up, Down, Alt1, Alt2, Random and Trigger) or create your own with microKORG XL’s on-board step arpeggio editor.
