I first saw his horn in the store and I was like, "Whoa" and I played it a couple of times. The perfect instrument for me!!! If you use the megatone mouthpiece with the horn, you've got yourself this nice,fat, rich, dark sound every trumpet player hopes to achieve! I also thnk It can last longer from tarnishing because although it is just like the regular 180-S37, it has a double silver plating rather than the nickel silver. There are no real problems with it, except the valves. I would HIGHLY reccommend, if you get this horn, is to pull out the 1st,2nd, and/or 3rd slides and put a little valve oil into the holes where the valves lie so you won't have to unscrew the valves :) Hopes this helps! Only con is that all strads lack a third slide water key, and you literally have to pull out the tip of the slide to dump your spit. Pain in the butt and

This trumpet was a great buy. I bought it in eighth grade and am a graduating senior now majoring in Music Performance next year. I have used this trumpet in EVERY possible venue and it has never once failed me. One thing I suggest with the Monel Valves is to keep them and the valve casing clean as a whistle though because they tend to stick quite a bit when dirty.

The fat lady has sung! This trumpet is nice and heavy for all you jazz lovers. Its so beautiful i didnt even want to touch it at first. if you want an even darker sound then it already does i would say get a magatone. caution! might make you cry at first sight.

This Trumpet is a gorgeous instrument. It is positively beautiful in sound, with a nice brassy, full tone. The valves are quick to respond, although when they get stuck, THEY REALLY GET STUCK! The horn is a bit heavier than an average one... And beware: THIS IS A LIFELONG INVESTMENT. This horn is certainly not for novices. A must have for a true Trumpet master.
