i used this as a one time guitar when my epiphone ultra 2 was broken from weathering outside and i wouldlnt dare take my gibson to an outside gig. i bought this for one gig and ended up not even using this. i returned it 4 days later. i tried to give it a chance. i bought ernie ball strings, and swaped out the horible pickups. but it didnt take away the fret buzz sound, and the bad tuners couldnt keep anything in tune. the bland look and bad craftsmenship didnt helpmy opinion either. although, dont get me wrong, if youre a parent looking to buy ur 7 or 8 year old a guitar for a school music class, then this is a good guitar for that type of situation. but if ou need a quick guitar for a gig, try a epiphone les paul standard plain top.

this amp holds back from playin songs wit a characteristic sound....4 experienced guitarist that care 4 a smooth sound.....then aim higher 4 a better guitar.

The guitar makes beautiful music, especially with the right player. When you first get it, it's more like a 2 or 3 star guitar. After you get new strings and polish the guitar it becomes at least a 4. The guitar is great just the variables like the strings and strap are faulty. Sometimes the guitar is hard to polish. Overall everything is great about the guitar itself!!!!!

I bought this package by august 21st and today is october 11 and still it hasn't arrived. The salesman told me that it could last about 3 to 6 weeks but that time already passed and my guitar hasn´t arrived yet.

for a cheap guitar, it holds its own. as much i would rather have a GIBSON, the epiphone version is great for beginners. the amp hums but your simple distortion pedal stops it.

This is an awesome beginner guitar. My bro bought a fender strat and it was junk. This guitar has a good sound to it. The amp is OK but thats how all pak amps are. This guitar feels good and is fun to play. If you are looking for a cheap pack as a beginner this is the one to get.

This guitar is perfect for my needs. I have been playing for about 6 months and taking a guitar class in school. This is my first electric guitar. The guitar is solid and the best that you can expect for the price. The amp is what it is. It is loud enough for playing in my house and practicing at school. I wouldn't use it to play a show. For the price, it is the best deal around.

[...]This is hands-down the best value you'll find for the price. For a cheapy, the guitar is EXTREMELY well made. I'm still surprised in the quality (frankly, I think this guitar is made almost as well as my American Series Fender Telecaster...I'm not joking). When I opened the box, the first thing I smelled was lumber (real wood, not composite material). After lowering the bridge & bridge humbucker to my own particular specs, this little axe is sweet. Great feel, great sound. Not a workmanship flaw inside or out. Gibson & Epiphone really care a lot about pleasing (& developing) it's customer base, & the low end is no exception. Just please keep in mind that is IS a cheapy. Even though it's a QUALITY cheapy, don't abuse the instrument. If you take proper care of the guitar, it WILL last you a lifetime. With all the accessories the package comes with (strap, picks, DVD, gig bag & tuner [mine came with a pitch pipe]), it really is perfect for a beginner. I can't really rate the accessories; I have my standard gear anyhow (the gig bag is nice & snug, however). As for the amplifier, well, it's a practice amp, so don't expect too much, but it's certainly not bad (I hooked up my Boss ML-2 pedal to it & I had that tiny amp smokin'!). If your new to the craft, or someone looking for a cheap but well-made quality instrument, look no further.
