This is the first drum pedal I've played and all others that I have played are not as nice. What I like most is the control I get without having to adjust a spring or cam or footboard layout like the $200-$300 pedals out there have. For those who like a cam-assisted pedal for accelerated beater speed at the end of the pedal stroke, the speed king doesn't provide that. I found myself adjusting my DW5000 pedal to get a good feel every once in awhile. The DW pedal is high quality and the spring tension lock nut was not going loose; it was just I was not fully satisified with the tension. I was able to get double strokes more easily on my DW pedal than the Speed King.

I think this is a very good product but i like to keep my drums close together so i don't have to reach to far and its a tad bit to big.

The Speed King is hands down the best pedal of all time. It has been used on more historic albums than any other pedal and continues to maintain it's place at the top of the heap. John Bonham, Keith Moon, Ringo Star, Rick Allen, Nicko McBrain and countless others have relied on this pedal. I've played DW pedals costing twice as much and they can't hold a candle to this one.

This is the holy grail of bass drum pedals.This thing is the best bass drum pedal I have ever used,surpassed Gibraltar,Tama,Pearl,etc.it's so simple and I think that's the thing that has kept it alive.I wish they would bring back the Ghost pedal,though.That was a close tie.If they brought that one back it could be improved.Anyways,the Speed King is numero uno in my book.
