This bass should only be considered as a very first bass guitar that a beginner would play. It's playing quality is very low, but that's assumable because of it's low price as well. It's good to pick up this guitar at first, but if you want to become a serious bass player you will definitely need to upgrade.

I learned bass on this guitar and it was great! Ibanez makes great products and this bass is very versatile. I've seen novice players use this specific bass for all genres of music. I couldn't think of any other bass to start with!!

well i got this bass from a pawn shop so i went out and got some rotosound flat strings and cleaned the neck and it sounds amazing
ive had it for a year and a half and the only thing it could maybe use is a bit better pick ups but the range of styles is very good for an intermediate bass

Out of the box, it had some fret buzz, but a Sam Ash technician in Nashville and his magic hands switched out the strings (to Ernie Balls), fine tuned the frets, and made it sound just fantastic!

It's my perfect road guitar. Plays great, but it's not so costly that you have to worry every time an airline or TSA employee gets near it.

This is my first bass, it doesnt go out of tune, feels and looks great. But the "G" string buzzes, i even raised the string and it still buzzes, still a good guitar though.

Well in samash they dont have the sunburst one for sale like in the picture but in zzounds they do, so i have the ibanezgsr200fm(fm standing for flame maple or something) wich is the same just prettier but ibanez is REALLY good cause when you want to you can play soft and when you dont you can play soft and this Banjo sounds perfect through my samson powered mixer and peavey speakers wich i also bought at samash.....Perfect guitar, dont keep reading this click the buy button you wont regret it.

You cant beat this thing for the price hands down. Has a great feel and the thin neck is perfect for playing fast, and for guys/gals with smaller hands. Minimal fret buzz after fine tuning. Stock strings gotta go, (note fine tune the neck after you settle on what strings your gonna use) Not thrilled with the pickups but the active electronics make up for that. Keep in mind its not a high end bass, but this is a great instrument for beginners and experienced players alike. I got the starburst blue finish and its stunning! Carnuba wax is a must to keep the finger prints under control.
