M-Audio Fast Track Pro Recording USB Audio Interface
“High quality, low price”. “Hangs with the big boys”. “Its performance belies its miniscule price-tag”. “Great bang for the buck”. Where have we heard these popular phrases before? From experts reviewing M-audio products-that’s where! The M-Audio FastTrack Pro is no exception! Starting with 2 high quality mic/instrument preamps, you can record at rates up to 24-bit/96kHz. The preamps are located on the front panel in the form of XLR combo jacks, also able to accept ¼” inputs. Plug in your microphone, guitar or keyboard and GO! Each channel has an instrument/line switch, pad switch, separate gain control, and clip and signal present indicators. Rounding out the front panel features are a stereo/mono button, mix and overall output controls, MIDI activity indicators, a ¼” headphone jack, A/B source switch and power-on and 48v phantom power indicator lights. Around the rear of the M-Audio FastTrack Pro is the power button, 9V AC connecter, MIDI I/O, USB port, SPDIF I/O, 2 sets of RCA audio outputs, one L/R ¼” balanced output, 48v phantom power switch and one pair of ¼” inserts. As a studio recording tool, you can track with minimal latency and achieve first-rate, professional quality recordings through the front panel preamps/line inputs. Use the rear panel inserts to hook up a hardware compressor so your signal is tamed on the way in and dynamics are kept in check to your liking. The headphone amp is actually quite powerful and delivers a clear, loud signal to your headphones of choice. The two pairs of analog outputs let you connect to a DJ mixer and use the front-panel A/B source switch to audition cues. This is extremely useful to DJs in need of an affordable breakout box solution. You can power the Fast Track Pro by either the USB port or the included AC adaptor. It’s both Mac and PC compatible and comes packaged with the popular Ableton Live Lite 5 recording software. It’s easy to use and allows you to create, loop, mix and deliver professional quality results. It’s also compatible with Avid’s Pro Tools 9 so remember to ask your Sam Ash Sales Associate for more information. You’ll be making awesome sounding productions in no time with the M-Audio FastTrack Pro package. It’s quality construction, welcoming price tag and useful features make it an amazing bang for the buck, offering great quality at a low price as it hangs with the “big boys”.
