I've been a guitarist for over 40 years. I played a little Bass, too, but it was always someone else's Bass guitar - until a few years ago, when I decided I really ought to buy my own. I searched-for & bought a vintage "Acoustic 371" Audience-Thumping Bass Amp and now own FOUR Basses, two of which are DEANs. I was looking for a nice 5-stringed Bass, hoping for High-End GIBSON Quality at a Jay Turser price? The Dean Edge-5 delivered absolutely everything I was looking for, HOPING for. Quality workmanship & parts, the perfect FEEL and an awesome spectrum of tone variation in an attractive design. I'm no expert Bassist but I know what I like and I gotta tellya - I LOVE my Edge-5! The Transparent BLUE Edge-5 is absolutely GORGEOUS! I never thought I would buy a BLUE guitar but this baby is a BEAUT! BLACK? {Yawn!} RED?? Too common. The TransAMBER?? VERY nice, also. TransBLUE? I dunno; I think there's something downright enchanting about the blue woodgrain. DON'T insult the instrument with a Gig-Bag. It deserves a Dean Hardshell Bass Case. (Honest; I am NOT Dean Zelinsky or a shill.) Oh - Add Dunlop Strap-Locks and get a 'String-Swing' wall-mounted axe hanger for easy access at home instead of a stand. When it's hanging, it's ART! It's always best to have some hands-on experience with an instrument before making the decision to purchase, but I just don't see how you could possibly be unhappy with this instrument - order with confidence; You'll love it!
