Jody Jazz ESP Gold Plated Metal Baritone Saxophone Mouthpiece (#8 Facing with Spoiler)
The JodyJazz ESP is a metal baritone saxophone mouthpiece with flawless workmanship. The workmanship is evident in the beautiful thin side and tip rails and hand cut baffles. This metal sax mouthpiece is CNC machined from a solid bar of the finest virgin brass, meaning no seams! The ESP is beautifully plated with the finest 24kt, Hard Gold plating available. A very interesting feature is that the new JodyJazz has a removable baffle with a 24kt Gold plated secondary reed which gives the mouthpiece more brilliance and projection.
The chamber is big and fat, and the sound is unusually full. The JodyJazz ESP will deliver a round full sound with a big bottom end without sacrificing the high end or ease of playing. The second register of the saxophone will be nice and clean and not muddy so that improvising on the ESP Bari Gold will be dream. When you need to cut through you'll have the power and when you need to blend you'll also have the ability to shape your sound and volume effortlessly.
About the spoiler:
The Spoiler is a patented invention. It adds volume (projection) and brightness to the mouthpiece. Spoilers consist of a wedge which creates a higher baffle giving the mouthpiece a brighter more cutting sound. Attached to the wedge is a small metal "reed" which actually vibrates when air is blown into the mouthpiece. This vibration disturbs the air stream causing more complex harmonics and creating more volume. This device slips easily in or out of the mouthpiece. It's like having two mouthpieces in one.
All JodyJazz Classic, and ESP models come with a spoiler. The metal reed on the ESP spoilers are 24kt Gold plated and the metal reed on the Classic spoilers are stainless steel. The spoiler is designed only for JodyJazz Classic and ESP models and will not fit other mouthpieces.
The mouthpiece is shipped with a Deluxe Rovner Dark Ligature and cap, a special removable baffle with a 24kt Gold plated secondary reed, and a deluxe mouthpiece pouch.
