The Hardwire DL-8 is an 8 second true stereo delay with 11 delay settings ranging from analog tape, reverse and modulated delays to a 20 second looper. The DL-8 features a 3 color LED indicator that shows pedal status in the looper mode. The delays tails can be retained when switching the pedal to bypass by setting the Tails On/Off switch.

THE GOOD: Overall, it is a good pedal. I like having tap tempo in a one-switch pedal. Sound quality is decent. For the price, it is worth it.

THE BAD: As for battery life, it has a voracious appetite for 9 volts. Digitech should have included the AC adaptor with the pedal. Furthermore, there are only 12 or so volume settings (non-analog) and the setting I usually desire always seems to fall, inexplicably, between the limited choices provided.

I am using this through one head and sometimes through two heads......always through the effects loop as delays always sound better that way, IMO. This pedal kicks ars. I've used a Boss DD-3 for 15 years (the same one) and have always loved it, but since going to a stereo head configuration I needed a delay that went to two effects loops without crossover noise. This does it. Yes the Boss DD-7 does as well but all I heard was bad reviews about that pedal, apparently noisy. So I researched this pedal.

What an awesome little pedal!!! Smooth delay and the options of delays are more than enough for a compact pedal. I pretty much set the pedal and put the rubber cap on it (very cool accessory), it is nice to know I have many delay options with this pedal.

Currently, I am stuck on the TAPE delay setting...one of the best delay sounds I've heard from a compact pedal. Not true digital copy and not the extreme ANALOG fuzz delay sound....it is somewhere in between which works for me wonderfully. THE TAIL feature is something I've wanted for a long time in a delay pedal. Though using the tail feature takes it out of true bypass....but I don't notice the difference since this pedal is so quite.

I guess if there is a con it would be that I got a small popping noise in true bypass when switching the pedal on and off. Not an issue for me as I like the tail effect.

I am a touring musician and use this pedal up to four times a week....have had it for a few months with no issues at all. Only time will tell if it stands up to my BOSS' longevity of 15 years strong. This pedal seems very rugged.....as much if not more than my other Boss Pedals.

All Digitech mutiprocessors--RP and GNX units-- the Whammy, and the JamMan, have a one year warranty from the manufacturer. All X-Series pedals and analog distortions(Bad Monkey, etc.)have a one year warranty, but if the new owner registers online at digitech.com, the warranty goes to 5 years on the X-Series and analog distortions only.
