The Competitor Series CMSX Snare Drum features an all aluminum frame and edge ring designed to remove all batter tension from the shell.

8 Ply mahogany shell. Shells are rich in upper harmonics for enhanced presence.
1.6mm Steel Hoops. Light weight yet strong and durable.
10 die-cast zinc high tension-type lugs. Die-cast lugs permit even tuning.
Lever action strainer. Strainer operates smoothly and positively.
Micro-fine adjustment of snare / head contact. Assures sensitive snare response.
12 strand synthetic gut snares. These synthetic gut snares are both sensitive and powerful.
Lightweight Suitable for all age groups.

This is an excellent marching snare for any marching band. It is very responsive, and has a rich but tight tone that all marching snares should have. They're also durable which is great for college and high school marching bands and brigaides of all sorts.
