It's a great set, it was a little difficult to tune the heads just right. But if you get new heads the drum kit opens up with a great sound quality! I would play all day if I could! This is a perfect set for Beginners or if you don't have enough money to get an expensive one. The price is great for how amazing the set actually is. Once you get all the tones right between the toms and the bass drum, it all comes together and makes the best sounding set I've ever played.

began on this set and i loved it the heads it come with are garbage but once your replace bot top and bottom if you cant get them to sound great you really dont know how to tune drums. its a great set to learn on and has a lot of potential if you know what you are doing. the set itself is very durable nothing has broke on it and ive had it for about a year and play it everyday always trying to make it sound better found out how much heads make a difference. what i did was use the garbage heads until i was really getting into it and getting into hip hop beats and more complex styles then i replaced both top and bottom heads and it was amazing after that

I use this thing basically every freakin' night! I simply swapped the heads for Remos, added some Sabians (7), and a DW 3000 Series, and presto, we have a badbutt set. The throne sucks though, hurts my rear end lol.

This is my first set that I bought a year ago and I have improved so quickly with this set. With the proper tom-snare positions, I was able to learn my first roll on the first day. The cymbals included are perfect and I still use them to this day. The only thing I've changed are new heads, new (added) cymbals/stands, and a pillow stuffed in my bass drum. It all sounds amazing now and I'll be using this kit for next couple years. The only problem I have with this kit are the drum heads and the bass pedal spring. I broke the spring after 6 months of playing (without kicking too hard on it at all) and busted a tom head after almost a full year (again, without hitting too hard). But then again, I love my kit and I'll be using it for the next couple years for sure!

I was dead set on a Yamaha kit until I played this one. Call it a beginner set if you want, but it has the perfect sound for my needs. It could be used in most situations with the proper heads/tuning. I've been playing for 22 years on Sonors, Yamahas, Tamas and many others, and this is honestly one of the best sets I've heard. Anyone having a bad experience with these drums...it may not be the kits fault.

I can't be more happy with a first drum set.They are holding up well and drummers I know with better sets and more knowledge say I did well to start out with these.I put new Remo heads on them and made a difference even I could hear.Go Ludwig!

i apprehensively bought this exact set from a small music shop with stock cymbals for [$]. i was not sure what to think when the snare's batter head broke within 4 hours of playing. so i got a remo ambassdor weatherking head for the snare, put a pillow in the bass drum (which was pretty resonant) and gave everything a fine tune. I'm not the best tuner so i got some evans sound rings to muffle the sound and make it less resonant, i put one on each 3 toms and the snare. Let me tell you, i play hard rock and metal on this set, and i play hard. but these drums hold up, its been 18 months now since i got this drum set, playing at least an hour a day every day, and i havent had to change any heads besides that original snare, just a tune here and then. the bass pedal is not actually that bad but its not durable at all, you would get a couple months before it could break though. the throne is not bad but not the most comfortable. with a bit of tweaking this can be an amazing drum set and would definitely last you years. This set is great as a beginner set but it would work for an experienced drummer as well.

At A low time in my life, I brought these drums to make due with my cravings to play, I found them very comfortable to play. My Kids just adore them, Ther're 9 and 10 yrs old and this set with a few zildian cymbals makes it all the better.

This drum set is awesome. im a beginner so i dont know much about drums. i got the red wine colored set and it is as great to look as it is fun to play. the only thing i didnt like was the fact that no cymbals are included. oh well. the bottom line is that this is the best set for a serious beginner.

I got these drums a year ago, and Id say they are good drums. They re responsive, durable and useful for gigs. I put some remo pinstripes to all and what a imnprovement! I recommend to change the stock heads. and probably buy a new bass pedal. Really a good kit, maybe for novices and semipros.
