Epiphone 1958 Korina Flying V Electric Guitar (Assorted Colors)

This Epiphone Flying V is a recreation of Gibson USA's 1958 model that shook up guitar body shapes at the time, inspiring an era of guitar design over two decades later. Its Korina construction has a unique tone and a lightweight. The set neck is made of mahogany and supports a rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. A set of covered humbuckers crank out a wide variety of sounds that will let you keep finding new ways to rock. Other features include an adjustable bridge with the trademark Flying V tailpiece and string-thru construction, die-cast tuners, and gold-tone hardware. Case not included.

My surprising orphan

I bought this guitar without even playing it, pretty much because I didn't have one. Years ago I played a Gibson Flying V, and it was horrible. I got up in a bar to help out a band who had a member get sick and couldn't finish the gig. The Flying V was what was available to play.
The Epiphone, to my surprise, is nothing like I remember the old Gibson being that night. As a matter of fact, it is one of the best guitars -regardless of price - that I've played in years. I would not hesitate to play it under any conditions. I own several Epiphone, as well as Gibson guitars, and don't understand why people think they need to change pickups, pots, or caps. Maybe they just need better quality amps......

This guitar is a lot of fun to play and sounds great. A great guitar for the price. Almost as nice as the Gibson V's, for about 1/5 of the price! Not for sit down play, but anyone buying a "V" would know that.

I bought an ebony model in want of emulating a V that Hendrix had. It's a great incarnation of a classic Gibson w/out the stickershock. The pick-ups sounded good through my rig and the overall fit and finish were nice.
As with all Vee's, you have to stand up to play it so it does make it kinda the 'live' guitar to play and doesn't lend itself to sitting with to easy.
